Looking at other social media outlets, it looks like people are starting to pick up their 2024's this weekend. So it should be a short time before we get a few owners starting to relay their experiences.

High-speed driving? Suspension seats are very common on tractors, those usually don't go too fast. Marketing gimmick or maybe people just want better seats.

Yeah, because tractors usually don’t have any suspension at all, if it does it is incredibly stiff.

Put better suspension in the vehicle, no need for gimmicky seats. They used to be popular in desert race trucks, suspension has gotten so good, no need for them anymore.

I am quite familiar with tractor seats. The Subaru seat project took a makes sense approach, along with a non intrusive approach. And if they didn't tell you about them, you would just sit down and say...hey this is a comfy seat...Toyotas approach....not so much...

Right...bringing a tractors ride quality into the mix is like saying...but but turbos have been in diesels for years...when talking about Turbo's and engine longevity.

I agree on the seats at least for a couple years until the fad wears off or a kid loses a finger or toe in the moving parts.
I don’t know about a 2 door 4Runner though. I don’t think there’s much demand for it. I rarely see any 2 door broncos or wranglers on the road.

Our earth moving equipment had none. Some of our older machines didn’t even have suspension seats at all. You just dealt with it.

Had a John Deere 350 Crawler Loader and this was the seat looked like.

Maybe since I'm in my sixties and spent 20 years flying with a helmet, NVGs, survival vest, and body armor compressing my spine I want a better seat. Since most of you say you would never buy a Pro and possibly not even a new Tacoma, it's a non-issue.

Again, what works for desert trucks doesn’t always work with the necessary engineering compromises of a daily driven mass-produced vehicle.

At least you were sitting down flying with that equipment on...some had to walk or ride in an armored vehicle with less than stellar suspension with the same stuff or more.

Who cares whatcha buy or why, unless there is some need to justify what you wanna buy..

Why does everyone think a Pro owner is a wanna be desert racer? Or "the Pro is just a bunch of badges". If you are considering the new TRD OR, the interior has just as many badges now. TRD on the doors (vs TRDPro), TRD on the shifter, and the White TRD Off Road on the rear fenders stands out more than the much smaller TRD Pro on the hood. Might as well just scratch Tacoma off your list regardless of the price.

I will be happy when I can see the new Tacomas, trims, and interiors in person. That includes the iso seats.

That’s how Toyota markets it, but yeah there’s a wide gulf between actual desert race trucks and a tacoma

Spent years and years sitting on earth moving equipment being tossed and bounced around. Shoveled concrete to no end, did masonry work, ran jack hammers, all kinds of carpentry work, roofing, tiling, etc…you name it I probably have done it construction wise.

Have a bad back from all that stuff, herniated it in 2014. Dunno, have no desire for suspension seats, much rather have that extra 1.5” of travel built into the truck’s suspension so it would perform better off-road, but that is just me.

People can spend their money however they want, but people also can make fun of each other for doing so. This is America, and you fought for those freedoms yes? Men like my grandfather is why we aren’t speaking German… :)

Why buy a Pro if you don’t? That is the target market, desert racer wannabes. Why spend the money if you’re not going to use it as intended? Sounds like you would be better off in a Limited. Dunno for the price of Pro, I would do a luxury SUV, for how you are talking about using it. Doesn’t sound like it will see dirt much.

I like my stuff debadged, so no one can tell what trim it is. The whole badging thing has gotten out of hand. Don’t really care for logos on my clothing either.

Yes, like the non-double-cab 2024 Tacomas you can get in the States.
Hatchback “door” of course at the back.

Tried to keep it short but since you went there, it was 17 years flying and 3 years in Recon. I carried a shit ton more weight then and the selection and training has definitely taken it's toll.
