Wife bought a Costco Tritip pack and it had a three pound tri tip and a one pound tri tip… cut the bigger one to size at the cost of having to cook two later on.

Kind of tick off at the butcher who thought it was cool to put two drastically different size cuts into a two pack. They also hid the smaller cut under the larger cut. So need to keep an eye on that in the future.

Tri-tip was new to me a few years ago. Crazy...what was once "cheap" cuts of meat are now "regularly" priced because people know how to cook them properly.
Back in MY DAY...(grandpa Simpson voice), I used to but brisket flats for $2.29 /lb. Chuck eye steak... $2.89 / lb

I shoot for the 50/50 packages or pass entirely. Not worth the waste including: the tumbleweeds, a few charcoal briquets, and the time it takes to burn them down to store the grill.

I’d probably toss the one pounder into my grind pile in the freezer, knowing full well it’s overpriced for burger meat

I haven't had that one yet. It's been awhile since I ordered from them. I've been doing a lot of 0430 workouts and don't want an accident :bananadead: oh to be young again :D

I don't bother smoking whole tritips. They get the reverse sear treatment on the Weber and they come out perfect.

Wife baked some burger buns, slow cooked some chicken, and made homemade coleslaw. I topped it with some Stubbs BBQ sauce. I am the luckiest man alive

Ha and I was just thinking it is about time to come see what all I've missed in my favorite thread on TW. Have been holding off because I know how much of a rabbit hole it is for me :)

Yeah that does look delicious and being hungry doesn't help any either!

Now I want some SPAM and maybe some ABT's
