Had to wear those in grade school over our dress shoes,
later on when older we used bread bags over our socks in the "snowmobile" boots we wore (rubber bottoms around the feet with nylon uppers that had a zipper & cord cinch around your calf).

    What they look like today:

With THICK felt liners & sole inserts, of course.
No zipper as described by @sparkystaco though.

Yes... I had some of those too after the rubber ones. They were a couple inches from bottom of calf. felt liners, draw string and zipper. It was brutal to get "undressed" when I got to school, hands got numb even inside my deer skin mittens.
My rubber ones were olive green with a yellow sole, laces...not buckles. Buckles were lame.

Remember when people actually used a sick day as that and you did not catch them in a store shopping that same day.

Saw this: "Like the tire savers, do you have a link to where you got them? My truck sits sometimes, never saw these before, tires definitely flat spot!"
...on another thread and straight away thought of Remember When.

Do you remember when bias ply tires were the norm before steel belted radials and they'd flat spot within 30 minutes of being parked?
Took a 1/4 to a 1/2 mile of rolling to smooth them out again.
Was embarrassing on dates until you told her what it was and that your truck wasn't going to breakdown on you. (Run out of gas maybe, but not breakdown.)

Bigbangcannons sells the Bangsite for cheaper than Amazon and also sells parts to refurbish their vintage carbide cannons as well.
