Tube, with a screw cap, held 26" long drinking straws. To keep them clean and at hand.
Used the straws with the water Jerry can so we didn't have to tilt it to drink. Didn't even have to move the can out of the holder.

I think I posted this previously, but I rigged up a "pull point" by putting two Crosby eyebolts in those threaded holes in the front of the bed and then putting a larger 1/2" stainless bolt through them. Kind of redundant after I added the front bed rail last fall, but I was reluctant to remove it without "something" to put back in the holes.

Your "rear window control knobs" idea seems like a winner.

    Cheap traction aid for Canadians.
I don't have a tonneau cover, and so my 6' bed fills with snow when the weather gets nasty. Skis, poles, and Xmas trees still fit on top, and the snow develops a crust and doesn't blow back to annoy other drivers.

This provides free extra weight for traction all winter, and then it magically disappears in the spring when I don't need it anymore.
Added bonus: unlike sandbags, it won't fly forward and impact the people in the cab in the event of a collision.

Don’t think I posted it in this thread, but this quality of life interior mod is truly clutch for me. Having the lid stop at 90 degrees put it right in the way of my elbow as I tried to root around in there. I don’t even notice it anymore.

Did this back a few months ago, just getting around to post.... Had my friend help me design a pedestal / mount for an altimeter I picked up for cheap on Ebay.
( Had an issue that required it to be tagged for non-flight use, but works fine for my purpose). He was able to 3d print the pedestal, and I put a can koozie around the base for rattles and to snug it up. Drops right in to any of the cup holders, or I can remove entirely if it is going to be in the way.

OK, I'll bite. Why would you want / need an altimeter in a truck located in central New York state?

Well, not so much that we need it, but we travel around enough with fairly significant elevation changes, ( for the east coast anyway), and its interesting to see the changes as your driving.
It's funny though, my wife asked me the same question.

nice! i like the mount. i have one too (post #548) but i just let it sit in the cup holder.
for those who don't see the point: if you want to be legal driving around in conditions where you can't see 1" in front of the windshield, you need an altimeter.

If you are driving in conditions where you can't see 1 inch in front of your windshield, maybe you shouldn't be driving at all.

But seriously, help me understand this. I struggle to see how an altimeter that measures elevation in pretty large increments would change driving safety in the scenario you described.

i don't have a vertical speed indicator in the taco but the sensitivity of the altimeter is good enough that i can see the needle move in just a few feet up/down. only downside is you have to look at the needle intently to see it nudge, but really, if you can't see out the windshield, why not?

Edit: though, i do admit it would be safer to have a full panel of gauges for instrument driving conditions.
