I can't see there being a huge market for the Limited at that price, sure it rides like a car but it don't. You can also get a SR5 if you need a truck.

I can’t see anyone paying that, even in San Diego.

I think that is just the regular Base Limited too, the Hybrid version will jack the price up even more.

I don’t understand this long reveal strategy.

Didn't most people speculate 70k for the Pro after all was said and done? So this really isn't a surprise to me.

I'd expect a $5k price increase on the Tacoma over the next two years. That price won't be that far off, still too much and way too much for that truck. I don't know if Toyota is going for Lexus customers or what, but short of Pro and TH there won't be many people plopping down $60k for a Tacoma.

Many people simply don’t make smart financial decisions. Buying over MSRP is simply insane.

I was looking at Super Duties last January they all had a mark up of $10k, and these were gas XL RC 4x4. By April I was getting offers at $1k off MSRP with out asking.

Toyota seriously should look at prices of the competition. This was my year to trade and Toyota was always my go to. Now I've got to consider the Colorado among others.

Hear hear, many of us have looked at the Colorado. Only problem is I feel Toyota has one of the best TRAC systems of all makes. It’s hard to trust anyone else.

However, it sucks to have to pay the money they are going to be asking for. My home is the most important. Trust me, it was tough. I had a 2012 OR with traction control systems. The 3rd Gen OR was just too far off for me to open my wallet. So I settled on the SR5 because I fell in love with the 3rd Gens. This 4th Gen is too wide, might as well call it a full size, 4 banger no fan, and by all means not a fan of the stupid prices these days. Particularly the onslaught that will come soon, and then full force once the hybrids hit the street. $80,000 Tacomas. Damn.

I hope I get to drive this 3rd Gen Taco for a long time. I for one love the 3.5, particularly after the tune. So I’ve decided to save for a front locker and call it a day, and be stoked with what I have until by choice, or no choice.

If I were looking at new mid-sized trucks, I would give the new Ranger with the 2.7 V6 EcoBoost a serious look. That is the standard engine in the F-150's and has proven to be the most reliable. With 315 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque, the Ranger would be a brute.

Also, I like how they managed to redesign the bed to fit 4x8 sheets flat between the wheel wells. Even if you don't haul sheet goods, that open bed would be nice for general hauling purposes.

Of all the brands of truck I've owned, the Ford was the second most reliable, with Toyota being number one. I wouldn't hesitate the buy the Ranger if the price was right.

Edit: Just for the hell of it I built an XLT with almost all of the packages. It came out to $44,440. It wouldn't let you add the 2.7 engine, but if you assume about $3000 for that, you are looking at a MSRP of about $47,500. Looks relatively cheap compared to the Tacoma offerings.
