    Knee Replacement Manufactures:

    https://www.healthline.com/health/t.../implant-manufacturers#Total-Knee-Replacement

I went with Stryker's "marathon" version. I asked my knee doctor, " This means I can return to doing triathlons, right?" Not so fast. I weigh 245 pounds, and I pound my knees a lot. If you are under 180, go for it. Over 220, use caution running. Different knee doctors have their favorites; insurance approved the Stryker. The doctor mentioned that they have to use a cheaper one on Medicare but prefer this for active people.

Old style had a spike down into the femur; if you broke that, you ended up in a wheelchair.

Shoes: Replace them every 500 miles of running. I recommend ASICS or Brooks (per my podiatrist). Good shoes help cushion, saving your knees.

Neuropathy is a mystery. Common with Chemo or Diabetic, but it's insane. I'm on about 3000 mg of Gabapentin per day. It just helps me take the edge off so I can walk. I still keep up with intense workouts in my Parkinson's Boxing Classes. Keep exercising; do what you can today to do it tomorrow. It's never too late to start.

Late Night Binging: Amazon Prime. Witnesses (French). If I am watching an excellent, engrossing mystery, it helps disconnect my brain from Neuropathy so I can get to sleep. Late-night TV with commercial breaks isn't good (distraction for ten minutes, two-minute commercials). I need a solid hour of not thinking about it to help turn down the burning.

Crimson Rivers - French (3/5). I enjoyed it, but why is the junior detective always the one to get beaten up?

Astrid - French (5/5). Enjoy this one; Lead is on the spectrum, but it shows how most have one thing they excel at.

Charite. Three different years. German (5/5) for all three seasons (1900, 1943, 1963).

Miss Fritmans War - Swedish (5/5)

@roundrocktom, I'm a heavy runner, I'm only 5'8" and was right about 200 pounds when I was 60 and ran a half-marathon in 1:38; the folks around me at the finish line, all 40 and under, were stunned by the fact I'm both old and heavy, and still kept up with them. :)

Since my knee went south in 2022 I've put on quite a bit of weight, nearly 50 pounds, but honestly, I don't care what that does to the replacement knee, I'm going to run anyway.

My grandfather had a few apple trees between the driveway and his garden in North Carolina. Now, his was maybe 50 years ago but I’ve never since had apples as good as what I picked from those trees. Wish I knew what they were. I gave up the search because when we were in Vermont a few years ago I was told that with cross pollination there are apple varieties that may exist in a single valley and no where else on earth.

Good Morning Everyone, enjoy the day! For those of us in colder areas it's another day closer to spring. But I'm not complaining about the winter we've had this year. After 3 days of drizzle and clouds we're seeing sun. Any other year it would have been a few inches of snow. We are looking at 40's in a couple of days. Even the 30's lately are above normal.

OH No…say it isn’t so! Another sunny and warm…51*…day here in Colorado! It looks like our 60* days are coming a week or two early this year. All the college kids and sun-worshippers (that’s me LOL!) are going to be outside next week. An awesome break in the middle of winter!
Everyone with sun, get out there and get some vitamin D! It will keep the Boogieman away! LOL! Have a grand day!

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Sun is out much earlier than promised, so that will be great for outdoor fussing and pool plumbing repair. Highlight for yesterday was getting the new Yokohomas on the RAV4. I could not believe the difference I felt immediately! And the old ones still had 7/32 tread left - but I didn't like the looks the sidewalls were making. Heck, I could slalom the car now.

81 and sunny here but the weather is supposed to turn tomorrow. Dropping off small truckload of donations at Goodwill and then sticking a few more boxes in storage. I have to wonder how we accumulated so much stuff, we could open my own art gallery just with the pictures we have stashed in closets, corners and under beds. Really dreading cleaning out the attic and garage, I keep thinking I should just have a dumpster delivered.

Good afternoon. Yesterday the temp got up to 74 in our back yard. went out for dinner and music last night, we had a good time. Today I am taking it easy, just cooking ribs and a pot of Taco Soup.
