My tailgate just fell off...bushing on the right totally disintegrated without warning.

 

Oh wow, that’s new! Mine still there after 190K. Guess I better zip tie it…

 

I'll be on that...tomorrow...beers have taken over today.

and hear i thought our 2nd gen hood gap problem was bad. tailgate falling off... boy you third gen guys wheel hard.

 

I've already had 10...so its another day for sure.

Thanks...mine never even gave me a warning just fell off the right side swivel point.

 

Just looked on line...8 bucks for the bushing from Toyota.

 

Good thing you don’t have to buy the whole tail gate. Wonder if there’s an ECGS model.

 

It doesn't have to last that long.

 

Wonder if the 4th gen hinge bushing is more mud-resistant?

 

I will do some real world testing....side note went into Toyota Town to pick up the bushing and my buddy showed me the first 4th Gen they had come in. Off Road LB in black left my phone in his office..lol...but I got one pic!
