@XPOTRPR & @White lightning boosted , thank you. Like I mentioned, this was a tribute to my dad. He loved these little trucks, I learned to appreciate mini trucks from him.
The S-10 was a fun project. Restoration to the best of my ability, upgraded everything. I even taught myself how to tune after months of research and the HP Tuners home course.
Installed the hottest factory cam, ported intake, big valves and ported hi flo factory heads, headers, etc etc. Out back is an 8 1/2 Eaton posi.
All in good fun, and it handles wicked quick with zq8 springs, heavy sway bars, adjustable gas shocks, a Lee power steering 9 to 1 ratio steering box, and a factory Xtreme cross member frame brace.
Ps: In the process I found out that nobody wants to work on iron heads anymore. I finally found out the dirt track guys are still using iron block/heads, and I had to drive a day to bring the heads to a guy that does all the dirt track engines

ive seen those 4.3s geared right to be quite impressive.

Yes, I suppose the truck would be pretty quick if I went with a 3.73; however, I was looking for something for decent cruising, but still enough pull to keep up with traffic.
The truck has a 4L60e trans which has a fairly low 1st gear. The factory rear was a 3.42 (I guess gm did this lower ratio because the 4.3 is such a dog in original trim). I decided on a 3.08 posi rear.
I know what most of you would think, but would you believe it if I told you this is the exact same trans/gear ratio as the old ‘96 rwd Impala SS? Given enough horsepower, even a turd can go fast!
Lol, all kidding aside, the benefits of this are I still have enough pull for driving stoplight to stoplight, and at 80+ the truck isn’t even sweating :)

So the difference in the new idler pulley is that the front spacer also has an extrusion that supports the bearing. The old pulley I had was bent out of shape, in pretty sure this revision reinforces and prevents that from happening.

How many miles were on the previous? Just curious if I should order this plus the upper double bearing upper idlers. Though replacing the bearings may cost a fraction like $100 vs upgrade SCOL $300.

I used a momentary rocker switch for my front ADD, did you do the same or use an awd axle tube?

I got the add switch from 12 state, it's a nice piece of kit. Now I'm trying to figure out how to get to the dash lights

The leds are already made into the 2wd cluster luckily. Just have to find some pins and insert them into cluster harness connector. Run them from the switches on the Tcase.

Do I have to take the entire dash apart ? Everyone is good about explaining which wires to connect but nobody mentions or shows pictures how to get to them lol:anonymous:

Nope just the cluster surround and cluster have to be pulled back. If I remember its the top 2 pins on the connector. Each switch gets a ground and the other wire goes straight to cluster.

You have to run your own wires of course from tcase to cluster

Whats real dumb is that a 2wd 4runners exhaust is already made like the 4wd model. The tacoma is the only one who has an exhaust specifically for the prerunner

Also make sure those dipshits at accutune don't put the coilovers adjustment allen in the back of the shock so you don't have to take your front end apart to adjust coilovers lol

Around 100k. I actually rebuilt all of the pulleys with nsk units and they weren't cheap. I double checked and spun each pulley and noticed that lower one was completely off canter lol

Yes they are. I did the same thing on my truck. I'm not in the cold so I decided the throttle body doesn't need the extra heat. I have no issue running it this way.
