Does anyone remember a great post a while ago where a guy completely tore out his interior and did the DynaMat thing for sound reduction? If so, any help finding that post would be appreciated as my searches have yielded zero. TYIA

Installing sound deadening on the doors and the entire back panel helps a lot with road noise.

I no longer install sound deadening material on the metal floor (marginal improvement).

Yes indeed, it was you. Thanks very much. I don't have shop space anymore, so I'm having a car audio shop/DynaMat master distributor doing it in stages. Last week was the rear half of the cab and next week is the front half. The rear half didn't produce the results I was hoping for on large aggregate Interstates like I95 & I75 here in the Southeast and Florida with LTX2 tires. Surface street sounds are greatly reduced and the JBL is totally different! Along with the floor, they did inside the doors, both on the sheet metal along with on the inside of the plastic panel using the DynaMat with the three layers. They even use hollow-fill in the pillars.
How much noise, if any, do you think is coming through the door seals? What would you differently should there be a second Tacoma in your future?
Anxious for getting the front half done next week. Again, thank you.

Not much. I notice it more now that everything is so quiet but it's not a bother.

I wouldn't do much differently. Perhaps use less dynaliner so the carpet and trim fits in place easier.

I would also add a piece of pipe insulation between the cab and bed for some cheap and easy noise reduction

Resonix is great stuff and the owner is a good dude, used it on my last car and will be using it on the Tacoma when the weather warms up.

Biggest win was insulating under the headliner. Prior to insulation. Rain was deafening. Recommend a butal based deading. Good opportunity to install a rear dash camera.

I'm having a car audio shop do the project and they are the area distributor for dynamat. Only back half done so far. Front half happens this week.

The wife decided that "other things" demanded my attention and then there was football. I will do it though.

Back of cab and roof, made the biggest difference in my truck. I did the back of the cab first. Before my very soft spoken daughter would try to talk to me from the back seat, and I couldn't hear here. After the back wall, I could carry on a conversation without having to ask her to repeat herself 100 times. I did do the floor and inside the doors as well. With some slightly feather tires at 70 mph on the highway, my Apple Watch shows 68dB. And very little tire noise now. The roof, made a huge difference with the rain. Used to sound like the rain was beating on a can, now it's just a dull thud in heavy rains.

Did you measure DB before you did the deadening?

I'm curious about this too - I'm at 68db on my apple watch with no added sound deadening. I checked it for kicks a couple weeks ago - I run Blizzaks in the winters up here.

How difficult was it to remove and reinstall the headliner? I deadened all of my cab minus that because I was afraid to screw it up and end up with a saggy or falling down head liner.
My roof rack definitely makes some noise so it would be cool to cut that down if possible.
