Yeah not a fan. Like I said, prefer my vehicles debadged. Hey we are all different, some guys like bling, others don’t. Would toss on some better tires on this and call it good. Still looks like it is trying too hard, but think it will grow on me. Hated the 3rd Gen when it came out too.

Functional - having a purpose. Flat sheet metal is not rigid. To strengthen flat surfaces it is common practice to add bead ribs. The Pro hood scoop incorporates large ribs to strengthen the hood. The non scoop Tacomas do not have those ribs.

And why does it need a stiffer hood, for all those mad jumps you’re gonna take it off???

    Or is just visual posturing…

I can’t see anything. I’m blinded by the giant glossy fender flares.

Any word on when these will start popping up at dealers, specifically in the Southeast?
IDK if these have already been outfitted with all the add-ons, or are just now shipping to get those things added by the Southeast distributers.

You probably shouldn't get a black SR5 with it's color-keyed flares then. Pretty sure they use the same paint and they will be just as glossy, at least when it's prepped for a show anyway.

I doubt the production model will be gloss, I thinks there has been a debate aboit it just being for the shows

    I'm impatient.
I need seat time to know if I want the 4th gen, or a used 3rd gen for not as lofty of a price.

The gloss flares have grown on me. Color keyed flares and door handles would have been my first choice. I don't care for matte flares because after a while they fade and look bad (or require continuous maintenance). Toyota is going with the two-tone roof thing for the Pro like they are on many of their models. The black roof, door handles, and mirrors are all gloss and I'm okay with this now. If they ditched the gloss flares, they would clash with the roof. Don't think they are going top get rid of the roof.

I don't think there is a known answer, but I feel as though it isn't gloss black plastic. Rather, I feel like they would use painted and clear coated black plastic to match the black roof. That would be a lot less prone to scratching.

I think they are painted. I don't think you could polish black plastic that well and the match on the all black Pro was too good.

All of the prototypes I have seen had the black roof. Only comes in four colors, terra, white, underground, and black as far as I can tell.
