Rebuilding seats with leather from furniture and extra padding. Might put leather on the dash and other interior parts.
    It snowed a little yesterday.

What's better than doing something once? Getting to do it again.

One of the cheapo LEDs died an hour in so I took it all apart and replaced the dead bulb. Took less than an hour start to finish this time around.

Unfortunately mine crapped out right before it got cold and icy here in OR. That seriously delays things when ya only have a one car garage no room to wrench. But I would bet you $100 you can't change the core, coolant, and reinstall the dash properly in two hours without breaking NLA items.

I don't remember breaking anything when I did them. The dash comes out really easily, nothing is even clipped really, it's all screws and bolts. I just loosen the dash support bar and slide the blower box and evaporator box to the side a little so I can sneak the heater box out. I didn't drain the coolant to do it, I just used my hose pliers to pinch em off. The only thing that gets a bit messy is the firewall insulation because the rubber backing always chips off. I bet I could do the whole thing in under 2hrs actually but in the cold with poor lighting, probably not.

On a full interior truck with AC and radio/CB doing it in two hours is BS unless perhaps it isn't your truck. And I am talking 'done'. But like I said....I will put up cash that says ya can't. And I don't live that far from you if ya wanna see.

I'm not opposed to taking your $100 but my current first gen doesn't need a heater core. Might need an evaporator before too long. Bring one over that does though, you buy parts and bring $100 I'll change it for ya. ;)

Just curious because this is funny to me now, what did you break that was NLA

I didn't break anything but it's easy to do if you don't want to remove the evaporator and housing.

And you are full of crap that it takes two hours. Sorry. Not from start to finish and totally buttoned up properly so you could hand it off to a driver. You might be able to yank the original and shove a new one in there in two hours but not while doing it right. If you think ya can I will up the bet and we can work out the details.

I'm sure I can, done two of em already, even one in a primitive setting like you did. Cold driveway and all. can make the details whatever the hell you want em to be. I don't know what you're calling "do it right" but I have no doubt you'll make it whatever it is that gave you PTSD over a pretty routine job. I conceed that I couldn't do it in 2 hours by wasting all the time draining the cooling system and depressurizing and removing the evaporator box. But I don't break anything to do it my way and it all goes back together properly.

I'll be 100% honest though I have zero desire to meet you after your initial little outburst when you first joined this forum. Certainly not somebody I want hanging out in my shop with me. It is now one of my favorite quotes though...

Ahh, so you can't do it for money, like I said you are full of crap. You got called out with a money backer and you are still full of shit. Snowflake.

is the difference here the lack of airbag? on the 95-97

cuz I def was able to pull my AC evaporator and replace it in the driveway after work one night and that included vacuuming and recharging the freon so it couldn't have taken more than a few hours
