Nice! Thanks for the lesson as well.

I spent a year out there back in 89. Back there, was up in Lemoore. in the valley if I recall. Did have a good time out there playing up in the Sequoia National Park.

Probably close to 100 miles today. Posted over in the tag game for those of you playing or wanting to play. Started on the GLMC 2024 Compass Tour and snagged 7 points this afternoon. Only need 20 points for finisher status and once more I live in an area with a fair number of targets. Weather supposed to turn to crap again by tomorrow so glad I got out today.

At first I thought you edited the photo, because I know that your FJR is red! Took a minute to compute. LOL

I’ve been in Mount Vernon this weekend (baby shower today with my family here) and haven’t seen this much rain in a long ass time. That and the fact that it’s almost 60 degrees is wild.

I put 130 miles on the 701 yesterday, wet roads and a little chilly but nice ride. Also no more oil leak!

It only got up to about 40 degrees today, but I couldn’t take it anymore and took the thumper out for a 30 mile loop. I gotta get me one of those cameras to film while I’m riding! Cheaha Mountain was pretty today.

just a couple of things tbh
so first its gonna be 50 and sunny out some this week! i can finally bring the klx out for a bit!

other then that most of you have been riding longer and im sure have heard the whole speel about riding is dangerous bla bla bla. so and so crashed and lost a limb or so on so on so on.

have you all ever had it where you are talking with your buddy about fixing his and his wife goes off saying you are not riding that thing ever and then the girl you are talking to goes off saying roughly the same thing lol tbh it was kinda funny to me just wondering if anyone has ever got their buddy in trouble with the misses with talking about getting a bike or fixing a bike they own to ride again.

Nope. Wives/girls have expressed concern, but it's always been nothing more than that. Best counter to that attitude I've seen is to be understanding of the concern/fear but to calm them down and then show them the fortnine vid, or quote the stats from it, where he talks about motorcycle safety. It's official numbers (from Canada and US IIRC) and shows how a bike isn't that bad if you're not a squid idiot.

see ive never had the issue other then my mom because well its a mom lol the girl im talking with has never shown concern minus no 600cc sport bike or higher lol (unless its a parallel twin engine then its fine) so it was kinda funny to see her go back and forth with my buddys wife for a few secs

Chances are if my wife was like that she wouldn't be my wife.

I'm going to have to say no. My ex actually rode her own bike and could ride rings around a lot of guys I know. Had her own Iron Butt number and did long distance rallies with me. My fiancee knew going in how much I rode and if she ever even broached that subject she'd be shown the door. Hell both my ex and my current have bought me bike parts through the years. You guys in that boat need to find the right partners.

I wouldn't say that the baby needs to be tossed out with bathwater. Most I've talked to who had the fear were less spooked once they had some actual info. Now, if they are just a tyrant and trying to order you to quit and won't budge, absolutely send them packing.
