For several months I’ve felt this is the 49ers year. However the Chiefs keep getting it done. 3 of the last 4 playoff games (starting with last year’s Super Bowl) they have won as underdogs. I can’t see how anyone would be shocked with it going either way.

It would be so sweet as a Chiefs fan to win it all on the Raiders home field !!!!

Agreed. It’s unfortunate but this is how reputations are made and often by drawing the wrong conclusions from too small a sample size. I think Detroit will be back or at least continue to be competitive. I was just really happy for Kyle that his team came through this time. I think we’re due to play everyone in the NFC North next year since this year was the East and last year it was the South. Looking forward to it.

    That would be insulting! lol

I'm a Raiders fan first because they won a SB for the city of Los Angeles back in 1983. (Yes, so did the Rams but not until later)

Before that, I was introduced to Sunday Games with my dad who loved the Los Angeles Rams.

Rams went to their first SB but played the Steelers and well, we know how that turned out...then they went to St Louis.

For a time, I was following the Niners in the 90s...probably because I lived in Abilene, TX and despised Cowboys fans. lol

Not saying I despise the Cowboys or any team for that matter...I enjoy watching any team NOW who executes their plan to win.

I can't say which QB will outperform the other in two weeks...I'm just hoping Purdy has a good day and Niners "D" can contain the Chiefs.

BTW, I'm all the way on the east coast of Delaware and I root West Coast! Woot-woot!!! (Regarding that map someone posted on this thread)

I relocated when the USAF sent me to Dover AFB back in 2006 before I retired from active duty in 2011--I've been a Delawarean ever since! lol

Can identify there as a lifelong Patriots fan. Got my face kicked many a time as a younger person by them.

Crazy play of the year, but as a great wise man said "the great ones make their own luck"

Would have been a much cooler story had the Lions and/or Ravens made the superbowl. These two cookie cutter teams bore me as a match up.

Thank you for your service! Don’t take my hatred for the Raiders personal! lol. The late great John Madden however gets a pass, big fan of him.

Shout out to fullback Kyle Juszczyk for his impersonation of a world class wideout toe tapping the sideline and reaching out of bounds for the catch and securing it without a double clutch after Brock ducked and spun from the blitz McCaffrey whiffed on. That may become Juice’s most memorable play even though he’s valued mainly for his blocking. All Pro indeed.

He’s got a nose for the end zone. Scored once and almost twice in SB54. Growing up as a college football fan in the 70’s-90’s, fullbacks were the same, primarily blockers but got a decent number of big play carries (at least in Nebraska).

No, you're cool with disliking the Raiders...I'm not going to tell you otherwise! lol

And thank you for recognizing my service.

John Madden was the best...him and Pat Summerall were great!

Good news for Lions fans on Ben Johnson coming back next year. One of the toughest things teams(and especially QB’s) have to deal with is losing coordinators. And when you finally find a good one they get nabbed for a head coaching gig. Goff’s been through what, 6 now? Coaching trees are a sign of success but finding those brilliant new minds to carry the torch is seriously difficult.

I’m not a Detroit fan but I was really rooting for you guys. I love Dan and he’s really built a culture that can do great things. That’s shows how good the culture is when he can keep his core group of guys.

I did some back story reading on the culture change and a lot of has to do with what Detroit needed the most. Front office change. Shiela Ford Hamp chose to take a back seat and learn as opposed to what the rest of the family has done. And then went against the grain with the decisions made regarding management. She even got Spielman to come back from a broadcasting gig. It was an impressive read and what we needed. Hard keeping up sometimes when you're not in the local market anymore.
