Offroading near S Pasadena

    So I'll be down in S Pasadena for a few days in a couple weeks and I'm looking for a good place to go wheelin' nearby. I am not at all familiar with the area. On the map it looked like Hwy 39 towards Morris Reservoir may have some good areas. Any good trails for offroading in that area or anywhere else? Thanks!

    i live above S. Pasadena... nothing legal around here to wheel in...

    Angeles Crest Hwy (2) is still closed and not sure how much longer that's gonna be for...

    Hwy 39 takes you up into Azusa Canyon which is legal to 4x4 OHV

    Gorman isn't too far ahead and the Ventura TW members would be happy to take you up in that OHV legal area...

    try not to wheel alone... unless you want to be featured on the local nightly news...

    for 4x4 action, just Azusa Canyon and Gorman...

    they are both a bit of a trek and in So Cal traffic, even 30 miles can take an hour or more...

    if you know the exact dates you will be in town, cross check them with the trips listed...

    I'll be down there April 15th to the 19th.

    That Azusa Canyon looks like a pretty good place. Seems like there's a lot of muddin that goes on there which I dont really care for. I'd rather get on some rocky trails.

    the Rincon shortcut trail has locked gate that only forest service has the key to, besides Azusa canyon you may want to check out Lytle Creek there should be some snow there, or Cleghorn exit off the 15 fwy

    Its not really any trails its just a big open space that a river runs through. If you dont have 4x4 then don waste ur time they wont let u in. All of the trails that were local are closed ever since the station fire burned up in the Angeles Forest.

    One other close option that is only about 30 mins from Pasadena is Rohwer Flats, theres many trails up there. You should look in to that its probably the closest and offers the most trails

    That looks pretty good. I like that it actually has trails. What is the difficulty level? I'm looking for some good intermediate stuff to try out my newer set up with.

    Rowher has a few different skill levels mostly moderate, and even a black diamond. Thats probably gonna be your best bet

    ps- some of the trails on that link are in Angeles Forest and they are closed
