Is this a steal for a Warn VR EVO 1O Winch?

Nice!!! You must've gotten one of the updated versions that include the new wireless remote (109470) that I referenced above.

 

While it would be nice to add the wireless dongle thing, my remote appears to be the wired only version. I believe I could go the bluetooth route but that scares me / not wanting to tote my phone around outside the truck while offroading really. I guess just leaving her wired is fine.

I sent for rebate 12/12, so still awaiting it to come in.

Still for the money, very pleased with this winch. Decided to stick with the steel cable for now. I did buy a cast-iron hawse as I didnt want the plethora of rollers on the front...will see how that goes.

 

Yeah - I was not down with the Bluetooth option either - I need something tangible with physical buttons (just for my peace of mind).

I have the old wireless remote dongle (90287) that works with every Warn, except for the VR-EVO series. Kinda bummed me out, I spent a few nights trying to rewire and get it working with the VR-EVO pin out, but couldn't get it to work.

If needed, you can purchase the new wireless remote or see if they'll honor the additional $100 rebate to order one.

I have the newer wireless remote (109470) and will be wiring some in-cab controls as well.

 

I'd love to buy the remote but it's never in stock. Been watching for months.

 

Same here - I got lucky with another vendor and got one pretty quick.

Warn had them in stock for about 3-4 days when I posted that link, so keep an eye out and they're sure to restock soon.

 

Just a quick update on the (additional) $100 Wireless Remote rebate from Warn.

I have been tracking that since mid-Dec. on the website (www.datarebate.com). Last week the status updated to 'Fulfillment Complete' which is different than the $150 Winch Rebate, which showed the "mailed date" when the rebate card was issued.

I gave it a couple days to see if it would show up in the mail or get another status update online. Nothing changed since last week, so I called the toll-free number for the rebate center (1-877-630-2345) and left a voicemail inquiry about the remote rebate (along with my name, phone #, and the Web ID for the Remote Rebate).

I got a call back maybe 45 min. later - they were very helpful and let me know the $100 Remote Rebate was emailed to me on 12/14 - I confirmed my email and let them know I did not receive any emails from them. He re-sent it while on the phone. It showed-up in my email 'Inbox' immediately and I was able to use the $100 Gift Card code on Warn's site.

Super easy! If you submitted your addtl. $100 Wireless Remote rebate and haven't heard back or received an email from the Rebate Center - I would suggest giving them a call to check the status.

 

Service kit 109470 is finally in stock....was able to order one today.

I received mine today.... installation was easy...happy with the wireless remote. Now I just need to go out and get stuck!!

 

Hmmm... they sent me another wired remote instead of the $100 warn store credit

 

They did the same for me; I think that's part of the process is to ensure they've "replaced" the defective recalled remotes.

I found the rebate customer service team to be pretty helpful. You might want to call them to inquire about it - perhaps it was already emailed or they can re-send the email to you with the $100 Rebate Code to be used on Warn.com.
