Thought that was more fitting. :)

Onwards and Upwards! (errr…maybe not!) lol!

That is literally more like me than Ivan. Gone is my desire to race desert trucks, it was nice to reminisce though. :)

I wish they would have made the inside of the cab and bed wider instead of just pushing the wheels and fenders out further.

I will admit the back up cameras and some of the warning sensors were really nice, but the features like auto engine shut off at stop and this weird ass lane monitoring thing that pushes you back into a lane was completely annoying. Made trying to pass someone very sketchy because it tries to take the steering wheel out of your hand and that’s just effed up. and I thought the “HOLD” button was completely useless, if you’re sitting at a train or a red light and you don’t want to keep your foot on the break just put it in park

I haven't driven a Toyota with active lane keep assist but I have driven other brands. The one's I've driven shut off the assist feature if you're turn signal is engaged.

You don't also happen to own a BMW do you?? ;)

Lane departure is disabled when your turn signals are on. So if you tried passing somebody and the car tried to keep you in the lane, try using turn signals.

The turn signal makes good sense, I’m guessing she hasn’t tried her turd signal passing somebody then

Maintaining your lane is about the easiest thing a person will encounter while driving. Unless speed, weather, faulty equipment, or lack of roadmarkings exist. People should not be driving if they can't get the basics with out AI.

Agreed it's in the basics category, but if you have been driving long enough you will get some moron maintaining position in your blind spot.
Not to say you don't always have to put in extra effort to lean in and look in your blind spots, but it can happen. I've never had a collision because of it, but I know some that have who otherwise have pretty spotless driving records who have had issues.

I say the same every time I buy a vehicle. Usually along the lines of “if this car is a piece a crap and is going to break before 100K then I don’t want to buy it anymore”
I have never bought an extended warranty and so far it’s worked out fine. If a car seems like it’s going to be unreliable then it’s getting traded in earlier.

If you have a reasonable savings account balance that can cover a few grand, it makes no sense to buy an extended warranty.

If you don’t, it makes no sense to buy a new car

When it comes to extended warranties then take a look at your auto insurance company. A lot of them offer MBI or mechanical breakdown insurances for a decent price.

Toyota wouldn’t take a package off so I’m once again searching. I’m not really surprised since they’re brand new and they know someone else is gonna buy it

Warranties/insurance are like gambling at Vegas. The house may not always win but they win enough to make a lot of money.
Toyota is willing to offer extended warranties because they know most of their vehicles won’t need it and they will make money.

You can also turn off the lane departure with a button. I have mine turned off permanently on a 2022 tacoma
