Engine died while driving - oil light came on

    I would say you need to investigate replacing your cam sensor if you got that code and are experiencing shutdowns.

    The engine won't run if the various cam/crank position sensors aren't communicating. P0345 is an open or short in the bank 2 (driver's side) VVT sensor circuit. You can unplug the sensor and do a basic voltage check, but if that doesn't show an exceedance, you will need a lab scope to diagnose it completely.

    No. It is a variable reluctor that reads the magnetic signature oe the steel vanes passing by on the cam wheel. While a large collection of ferrous shavings stuck to the sensor can cause issues, nothing non ferrous like oil or coolant can mess it up.

    If the CEL was a P0345, then replacing the CPS with an OEM one would be the route I would take.

    Everything looks different and worse AFTER a problem occurs.
    You need a scan tool.
