Awesome! For me, State Farm wanted $4500/6 months for my $2k (3 cars) policy from USAA. I had geico for the cars but they did an across-the-board rate hike of $600/term so I went back to USAA - it’s always a checking game - checking for better rates.

Just curious if anyone of your guys have checked with Erie Insurance? I changed over to them last year, they were about 50% less then the lizard company with better coverage for the fleet, plus they underwrote my homeowners which was 60% less the Liberty mutual and gave me more coverage. You get a small discount if you pay for the year in full at renewal time.

As for the usaa- A buddy of mine owns a body shop in Hickory, he told me 2 years ago that he flat out stopped dealing with USAA anymore because of their refusal to pay for OEM parts even when the aftermarket parts can be proven to not fit properly.

 

Interesting choice in bank. Especially for interest rates. And… uhh, avoiding rant. I will leave it as, I have heard horror stories.


As for car insurance, in short terms, it is currently fucked. I started up a new policy in CA. Many companies flat out will not write in this state (among others). The ones that do are way too expensive. I’m now paying about 250% more in CA than I did in MD last year.

Late to the insurance conversation, but I'll bite. I've had State Farm since I've been driving. Also had a couple homeowner policies. They have seemed to always taken care of us. Back in 2020 my 2009 Tacoma was hit with a freak hailstorm. Insurance let me pick the bodyshop and put on an OEM hood without me even asking/fighting. They did the same for my grandmothers '12 Jeep. Put on an OEM Mopar hood, and it was at a different shop. They aren't the cheapest, but not bad with homeowners and 3 vehicles bundled together.

 

I'm all for it! Just gotta buff out this whole bumper thing first.... haha

Nope but maybe it’s time. My son is a few years away from driving age and I’m expecting my cost to skyrocket then… he’s already asked about drifting in the truck so the outcome isn’t good


*I set him straight that drifting is a no go, he’s not a sport or race car driver.

 

No bad blood here brother, rant on! lol… we chose them because I also have family highly placed in PNC and they talked us into it with good things to say. We do not, or should I say, have not used them for any type of loans. I’m not sure of their rates compared to most, but I like the simple fact that they are everywhere in our area as well as ATM’s… least to say, haven’t had any problems yet. Only thing I can see being financed in near future will be next years 4Runner for the wife… and most likely, that’ll go through Toyota Financial. When I bought my Tacoma I got 1.9% from Toyota… USAA and PNC were slightly higher around 2.5-3% I believe.

Like insurance, banking is a scam… crooks!
