So the Mahomes vs. Purdy Super Bowl is turning out to be something of an AFC Championship Brady vs. Mahomes "Proof" of the adage, "Old age and treachery will always beat youth and exuberance". I want to root for the "kid", but my gut tells me the "old" man is going to school him.

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Another bitter pill to swallow, but I can wash it down with the best Lions season in my lifetime, and we old here! Sun is out, and things are slowly warming towards 70*, so I'm gonna take it out on those weeds!

I have been a KC fan since they landed there in 1964, through the up years and the down. That said, I like Purdy and his story, his demeanor and his increasingly skills. McCaffrey is one of the finest athletes I have seen in my 79 years. Who could not like Kittel? When I was real young, I remember reading about Detroit and Bobby Lane and Tobin Rote in "Sport" magazine. I never saw any of their games, but liked what I read. I hope KC wins but want a great game, no injuries. A San Fran win would not be too distressing for me.
Heck this is a great time, in some ways, the Bengals, Buffalo, San Francisco, Detroit, Philly, Tampa Bay and KC.

    Afternoon all :hattip:

Just got back home from my doctor's appointment with my Neurologist . After a thorough examination has upped the dosage of the medication to produce more Dopamine levels and to slow the progression of Parkinson's disease

I will see him again in 5 months

The best thing we can do to delay the progression of Parkinson's is to remain socially and physically active.

Online classes are free! Excellent material:
    https://www.powerforparkinsons.org/youtube

Parkinson's Foundation had the "Aware in Care Kits," which morphed into the "Hospital Action Plan Kit" now it's
    https://www.parkinson.org/resources-support/hospital-safety-guide.

I was one of the Ambassadors, but COVID is limited in person, and everyone goes on the Internet these days. It is still an incredible information resource on what to do when hospitalized. Sadly, for those with Parkinson's, we are in much worse shape after two weeks in the hospital!

We must advocate for ourselves, keep on the medication docs that have worked years to tailor for us, and get out of bed and walk around for mobility.

Encourage him to join you for the Davis Phinney Foundation bike ride. (Great organization, based out of Boulder, CO)

Celebrating my second consecutive “all clear” skin cancer check last week and now we’re dropping back to follow-ups every 6 months. Guess I’m just paying for all the time I spent outdoors as a kid but 2 basal and 4 squamous cell procedures in the last year and a half have me looking like I lost a sword fight. I try to approach these things with some humor. When I had squamous cell carcinomas removed from left temple and left arm, my wife chastised me and said it’s because I always drive with my arm out the window. So when I had a squamous cell removed from inside of my left knee I told her it must be from all the time I spent driving with my leg out the window.

My wife has Parkinson’s, so far it staying mild. It hasn’t slowed us down much. Both of us have researched the disease extensively and we both agree exercise is the number one best treatment. The more the better. And we 100% agree with the expert here roundrocktom stay both physically and socially active. Do not become a sedentary recluse.
Most communities have Parkinson’s boxing which is excellent both for exercise and social interaction. I take my wife to them. I also participate in the boxing portion. I’m a former boxer and I show participants how to duck and weave, bob and slip. I show them different punches and how to punch. Some can barely throw punches but they do the best they can and have fun. Boxing is only a small part of the class and they don’t box each other, they box/ throw punches at boxing heavy bags. Wrap the hands and put on boxing gloves and punch away.
My wife has also had good results with acupuncture. It has helped her gait and her balance.
For those of you with Parkinson’s stay active, stay active, stay active. God bless you all.

    Good morning fellow Porchatonians!!!

I don't have a dog in the Super Bowl fight, but I'll be rooting for the 49ers. Their starting safety, No. 27 Ji'Ayir Brown, was a star player on the football team that we took to the NJCAA National Championship while I was president at Lackawanna College. He went on to be a standout at Penn State. This is his rookie year - what a way to start your NFL career. Great young man, all around.

Good morning all. Nice and mild out this morning. Got to ride the bike to work and didn't even turn on my heated gear. I'll take that for late January.

Good morning. Back in St. Pete (727) for a few days. We are packing a preparing to move a bunch of stuff to our place that I am rebuidling in north Florida (386). Darn, I HATE the lifting and lugging. Just back from a walk around the neighborhood. Fresh cool air. 51* in St. Pete, while I'm seeing 38* up there in 386, just 3 hours away.

Good morning. Lots to do today around the home. A little colder at 38 degrees this morning.

Good Morning Everyone, another nice day, temps low 40s. Tomorrow 53, then a slow start back to reality late next week. Have a Great Day.
Yesterday I washed my truck outside, normally it would have been through the car wash and trying to wipe it down before the droplets froze.

Thinking of all of you with health issues. My heart goes out to you. Nock on wood, but at 76 I have been fortunate to avoid anything major. Wifey has had a couple of strokes, but got her to the ER quickly enough that she has returned to normal each time. We are raising our last grandchild now 17, so we have to stay healthy for at least one more year to get her out of highschool.
Enough negativity for the day! Let’s play! Heading to the range with a German immigrant bud to test some reloads. Trying to find some under 1” to get this 30-06 ready for an elk next year. Thinking of hiring a guide ‘cause I really don’t want to haul another elk out of the mountains!
Geez I’m whiney today! It’s going to be another great outside day though at 60*, sunny, and light breeze…PERFECT!
Vitamin D, here I come! Hoping everyone makes this a great day for January 30. Only two days left in January, so don’t waste them!
