I just came here to talk up my wife's butternut squash from this season.

Simply and utterly the best squash I have ever eaten. So good.

    Side note. I hate squash.

Cook it on low, with lid off. 6 to 8 hours, depending on how much moisture is in your apples. Add spices in the last 30 min. Sugar to taste (we did 1 cup to 1.1 gal of uncooked applesauce). Use unbleached sugar.
1.1 gal of sauce cooked down to 5 pints.

Killed it today. Fall and winter are the best times to plant trees in SE.
Got 2 little leaf lindens in the ground (we use flowers for tea), 2 cypresses (just pretty and tall, plus they wl help with the wet areas on the property) and 3 chestnuts (love dressing/stuffing with chestnuts). Burned large circles to kill the grass and roots.
Used a 6" auger to get me started on the holes for the trees. Covered up with 3 bags of large pine nuggets per tree. They will be happy.

Last Summer a damn groundhog ate my raspberry bush and dug up the roots. Rather than throw it away l dug out what was left of the roots and planted it in a pot. Seems to be thriving now and sending out sprouts, when it goes in the ground this year fencing will go around it.

I just pulled the citrus and hibiscus into the garage. Our greenhouse has the heater going and 300gallons of water helping to keep it warm in there, probably around 1500lbs of thermal mass with 1200watts of heat in 6x8x8 pop tent greenhouse. The red wiggler worms, avocado tree, birds of paradise and many others are in the greenhouse.

I need to take a picture of it, I thought my tobasco pepper plant was done after the third crop. My wife went out and cut it back and boom, it resprouted and bloomed again and now I have more peppers on it. As in today, right now.
I'll post pics when I get home tonight. I'm blown away, granted I live in FL so I don't know if thats normal. Shit, I don't know whats normal for peppers anyhow. Just seems a bit odd for it to be blooming this time of year.

Finally got around to taking some pics. This is my Tobasco pepper, I got it late in the winter last year and grew it from a seedling. THis makes the 4th crop off it in a year, I took these a day or so ago so its current time.

Anyone know how many times they produce and can I expect it to be around for another year? I have read that peppers are a perennial but are usually treated as an annual due to winter weather, since I am in south FL and we don't get a freeze I am thinking I will have a multi year plant, what I can't find is how many crops they produce, I most certainly did not think I would get 4 crops.

Looks like they live, 3-4yrs maybe longer in warmer climates. This article says 60-90days for fruit production but can vary by what it takes to grow new fruit. So at least 4 crops maybe more per year. Just need to keep it fertilized properly and watered.
