The last shop that did my alignment apparently flattened my cam tabs balls

Which is weird because I have pictures of every single cam tab before I took my LCAs off and they were all perfectly erect and fine.

Is it possible to flatten the cam tabs driving half a mile to the exhaust shop, or from hand tightening with a wrench and a ratchet to torque?

Can I weld those in place without ruining the alignment?

 

I’m not sure if welding with the LCAs on will ruin the rubber bushings. Maybe someone else with welding knowledge can chime in.

If your tabs are already flattened, your alignment probably won’t hold anyway.

 

Yeah that sounds about right, that's what the guy said he was like I can give you an alignment but it won't stay you need to fix those first

 

I just put the marlin ones on my truck.

You can weld them without taking off the LCA's, but I also have uniball pivots on my front kit -- you could probably do some stitch welds on the areas that are close to the bushings.
As said before tho -- if the tabs are already flat and alignment is already off, might as well take them off and fully weld without worry

 

Yeah I've got a very high pitch squeel I think coming from the crankshaft pulley but I'm not sure. I know I can hear it driving after 15 mph but it really gets loud, that's what makes me think it's a wheel issue since it's speed related? Idk I got some fine tuning to do

Edit, mechanic stethoscope has it nailed to the lower tensioner pulley, thank God.

Is now a time to upgrade? Or is it easy enough to replace it stock?

 

Ha! I would love to, but I'm rocking salvaged vehicles for now lol. Only my M3 has a clean title.

But the GX470 will be getting Whipple supercharged as soon as XAT releases the kit this year!

i bought a pedal commader, useless...
i would try a banks unit if it was free. but these products dont impress me. so i can look like i have an epi seizure taking off?? no. no hp gain, nobody that has a fast ride has it. im out. $300.00 not spent well.
