Bit of a frivolous discussion, but now that most of us have had a bit of a good look at the Gen 4 truck, I was wondering........What is the general consensus about the look of the Gen 4 truck versus the Gen 3 truck?

I own a Gen 3 truck, so am I truly biased or is my opinion fairly impartial? I am not sure. When it comes to looks and sheer sex appeal, a well fitted Gen 3 truck, slightly raised up and some respectable tires on a set of nice wheels; makes the Gen 3 truck completely outshine the Gen 4 truck by a country mile.

    What do you guys think?

I'll need to wait and see them in person on the roads. I didn't like the look of the new tundras when they were first released but after seeing them on the streets they've grown on me. Same will probably happen with 4th gen tacos

Not a fan of the gen 4 pro, outside is ok but the inside is just to space shipped/ telsa'd for me. So glad I got my 23 last year.

Gen 3 looks for true to its roots. Old school Toyota platform . I think the 3rd gen is one of the most iconic looking vehicles of the modern age. Just my opinion. Thanks Mike sweers. I also don’t like the fact that Mike sweers wasn’t directly involved with the development of the 4th gen. Sheldon brown does seem to be a good engineer though so we shall see

4TH GEN ANGRY. HAS TEARDROPS OFF EYES TO FOR THE DEATH OF THE 3RD GEN.

really, it reminds me of an older guy in a midlife crisis, attempting to join in on aggressively face-painted teenage death metal concerts to feel younger and rejuvinated.

I think they look decent from the front. This corner/rear of the tuck is just hideous to me though.

It looks like about $10k extra is what it looks like. I'll just hold out for a 5th gen OR for $60k.. $70k if you want an EV

Why does that remind me of a Chevy/GMC-type thing?

I'll need to see a few of them in person in various setups and contexts first to decide. Wasn't a fan of the 3G Tundra on first reveal but it's grown on me as I've seen them with different lifts/tires/bumper setups that balance some of the less appealing proportions out.

    Some stuff
    How unfortunate.

This looks like while designing the rear, the whole crew sufffered amnesia and woke up thinking they were on the Prius project.

    1) Body looks all right, like a mini Tundra. Although I think larger tires will be needed to look better with its bigger body panels.
    2) I don’t like the Pro’s gloss black flares, as they’ll scratch easily.
    3) Interior so far looks cluttered. I’m not a fan of the display in the center, as to me, it looks like Toyota just said, “Let’s put a big display in!” And they just dropped it in rather than made it fit pretty.
    4) Bummer, no Access Cab.

Someone on IG pointed out this weird body line and I can’t unsee it now. Looks like a giant dent.

I can’t believe they left that or didn’t catch it. I really thought your pic might be inaccurate, but here is one from a local listing.

I actually really like the looks of the 4th get. What I don't like is all the "high tech" stuff. I hate the big screens in the cabin and I can open my tailgate myself thank you, don't need a button to push and have it open itself. So much extra crap raises the cost, the weight and the problems. Besides reliability, this is why I love the 3rd gens and older along with the current and older 4runners. People say Toyota was far behind the competition in technology, but I say they were in the perfect spot and should stay there. Just minor updates and quality improvements was all that was needed. Trucks should not be luxury vehicles IMO.

i really don't like that the truck looks like it got raped and beaten with a straight edge.

it reminds me of regular car reviews, when they showcased the rx8. [manly grunting]TRIANGLES!!!!!

but in this case, ANGLES!!!! ANGLES!!! MORE ANGLES!!!! SHARPER ANGLES!!
