Again, I will put up money to prove you can't to it properly in 120 minutes, we can find a third party to escrow it. It isn't rocket surgery but it isn't a 120 minute job to have it 100% done. That was my point. And I am still game if you want to put the money where you mouth is.

Contrary to popular belief I don't actually have anything to prove here. Least of all to you. It's you that wanted to challenge it, you somehow took offense to somebody doing something faster than you. Unfortunately that's also your problem. If you were a different person I might actually invite you over just so we can have a laugh and a few beers while I do it to prove a point but I was being honest when I said you don't seem like the kind of person I would want to spend any time with

Well you said you could change a heater core in two hours and I offered money to prove it. And you can't so here we are.

Yes, I’m having an issue where it pops out of gear on hard decel though. They updated the instructions to recommend the heavier shift detent spring, so I swapped that in, it definitely helped but still occasionally pops out.
NWF thinks I missed a snap ring somewhere, I don’t see how but I suppose it’s possible. So it’s coming back out of the truck…

I feel your pain. My van pops out of low on steep ascents, pretty annoying. I assume mine is from the drivetrain moving around just right. Any way that there's something in the mounting that it's moving forward during decel?

It's been a really long time since I've posted in this thread but my 02 Taco has recently become my new project truck where I'm currently working on a blown head gasket so I'm learning alot along the way by doing this myself. It's definitely something that I love doing right now especially now that I just bought my new tundra to become my primary vehicle and I can afford the downtime with the Taco. Taco is gonna come back better than ever performance and appearance...

I don’t see how, it’s all hard/poly mounts on the drivetrain. If i hold the crawl box shifter I can feel the torque reversal and the gears separating.

I assume the van is an automatic? I wonder if your shifter linkage just needs to be adjusted, I remember when I had the auto the linkage got bound up and wanted to pop it out of drive. Loosening all the linkage connections to let it all return to a neutral position and the retightening fixed it for me.

Speaking of autos causing things to pop out of gear... Don't forget Mike's finessed hill climb

    Weird.

It's a different beast, divorced borg worner transfer case. I think it's slop in the motor mounts and the whole thing is shifting back on the uphills that is causing it. I should double check the linkage regardless.
