    I think gen4 looks terrible

I thought the new tundra looked bad, and my opinion turned to ok when I saw it in person, but the Tacoma just looks terrible
So many odd lines, it’s like different design teams competed for the most ridiculous looks and then they just smashed all the designs together

I was never a fan of the High Waist on a Rollerskate look. That's the look that GM has beat to death for the previous two decades. The interior also looks robbed from the GM surplus idea bin. I noticed several comments saying "reminds me of GM..." that's why. They share the same lines as a 20 year old Avalanche.

Even from a good angle and it wearing a lift and tires... I am really not digging the design.

I ain't mad at the 4th gen, I'm not going to say its a bad truck... but I ain't planning on buying one either.

Another 2nd gen guy here, I like the looks of the 3rd gen but the 4th is really going to take sometime to grow on me if ever. Looking at the 4th gen makes me think of the direction most new motorcycles have taken, I don’t like the lines, probably the best way to describe it would be to futuristic.

They quit making what I like, and have.

If I needed to replace it today with something new (both need and new being unlikely) Maverick would be the call.

Are you guys surprised though? Look back through old 3rd gen threads, see how many people bitch about 'outdated' tech and 'small' nav screens. Its no wonder Toyota had to give in to the whiney masses.

I always figured the Tacoma was intentionally behind the times, for the sake of simplicity. Something I really enjoyed. But I guess at the end of the day it doesn't matter to me, I wont be buying a 4th gen.

if toyota still made the gen2 tacoma and the previous version of the tundra with the 5.7V8, and they were for sale on the dealer lots next to the most updated versions, i believe they would sell more of the previous versions than the new.

to me, that speaks volumes of the updated designs and how they missed their mark.

i thought the new tundra was hideous when it was released and after seeing it in person, i still think that. why anyone would consider a tundra vs. the other 1/2 ton trucks from another manufacturer i don't know. the new tundra will not gain any market share.

as for the gen4 tacoma, i have not yet seen one in person but i do not care for all the sharp edges and angles. the big screen inside is hideous as well. i can't believe they could not come up with something better.

Looks like a mini Tundra from pictures. I have yet to see one in person though. Last couple times at the dealer none were around for me to scrutinize.

    Bingo!
The older V-8 Tundras were great. Always wish I had bought one. Then they decided to chase the bulk truck design and turned them into tanks with a smaller engine. Meh. Funny that most of the full size trucks are going back to the bulk box gigantic look. Just dumb imo.
4th gen for reasons stated already do nothing for me but willing to wait and see them. Hoping in 4-5 yrs they smooth that body design out. But hate the 4cyl idea and the touch screen is puke. IMO what they need is the same screen as the 3rd gen. Just make it pivot left and right about a 1/2”. Driver can push their side to angle it for easy viewing and sun glare or passenger can do the same. Making the screen obnoxiously bigger solves nothing and creates probably more issues.

I love the 4th gen. That turbo 4 is going to make a believer out of you biches. This thing is going to haul ass. I’m in.

First thing, do not panic: just call your insurance, and I can recommend a decent body shop that’ll pull that for you, provided the frame underneath isn’t also bent in.

Wait, this isn’t another “is my truck totaled post”? Sorry, my bad…

The thought that people buy small-mid size trucks because they haul ass is funny. Even if some do. Haul shit yes. Haul ass no.
