Good morning. Already been out the door. My daughter's friend picked her up at 6:30. She called me 10 minutes later. His truck was broke done, in need of gas and a jump, so off I went. Poor guy's clunker needed plenty of assistance. He offered me the $2 or 3 in change he was going to use to get gas. I told him to keep it. It's tough out there right now for many.

Last night was eventful too. Neighbor knocked on our door asking for a fire extinguisher. Her kitchen oven was on fire. We gave her the one we had but it wasn't enough, so the volunteer fire department had to be called. They responded quickly and did a great job. The oven and the wall behind it had to be ripped out but everybody was safe and other than smoke, there's apparently no other issues. it's a good idea to have a fire extinguisher. I ordered a 2 pack last night to replenish ours. IMG_1339.jpg

The oven is electric and apparently the thermostat wouldn't shut off. She was visibly upset. I asked if she had home owner's insurance. It's her recently deceased grandmother's house so she's not sure.

Good morning. Slept like crap last night. I have to take mom to the doctor this morning. We have the visiting nurse, PT, and an aide come to the house. She told the aide she didn’t want her there and called the agency to cancel. She told them her children will take care of her. :facepalm:So today we be having a talk with the doctor about the aide situation as well as not driving. Tense moments in my future.:help:

    Good Morning old timers

Good luck. navigating this stuff is super hard. My 90 yr old Mom just told us kids she's contacted a realtor to move OUT of her facility she just moved into a couple years ago. Everyone there is too old and just waiting to die and she's not staying. "I'm not asking permission, I'm letting you know!"

Did I mention she's 90? And trips over everything? She's got her faculties, and has managed her assets well. Tough stuff. I feel for you @vssman

I’m sure it’s not the first time they’ve been “fired” under similar circumstances. They know the drill.
