Yes, by changing height and possibly weight I would want to make sure the tires are flat on the road for optimum tire wear.

 

Alright cool. I figured as much. The guy was awesome, but he's old school - he said he had an alignment done after new wheels and tires and all they did was make it worse. He could have had other problems going on with his truck though so who knows lol. I have an alignment appointment set for Thursday morning, it's only $100. Just paid $1200 for these tires, figure it's cheap insurance if anything. Appreciate it the reply man.

Way to go there Mountain Man, flexing on all us poors that can only have a heater in the dash while you are sitting in the back seat drinking whiskey by the fire.

 

You should have them remove and lubricate the adjusters as they tend to get seized up and can cause problems with future alignments. Because they are a sleeve in there the pieces can rust together and make an alignment not possible. When I replaced my lower control arms the lower cam adjusters were a monster to get out and replace. I made sure to spray antiseize and packed grease on them just to attempt to prevent this next time i need to align my truck. I plan on taking them out and regreasing before i do the alignment to keep it going as well. Extra work here and there to prevent massive headaches later.Granted I live in michigan where road salt is a real destroyer of cars but probably wouldn't hurt to make sure they continue to work for you without future issues. Just a thought.

 

Sounds like you may sleep better at night if you get an alignment.

 

Unless you put a leveling kit or lift I’d not worry about it

 

I don’t believe so but might be from the slope of driveway or the fact I hadn’t got the 5160 rear shocks yet. Got tires and shocks last night.

 

Yeah it took a bit of a MPG hit due to the added drag. I’ve felt a noticeable gain in winter driving though! Plus the whiskey by the fire…an unintentional plus

 

Not knowing much about this issue, I would like to see a detailed procedure. It makes a lot of sense to me. Maybe even a sticky. I'm getting ready to do a tire rotation and it would be cool to knock this off the list at the same time. Thanks @1TACOTONY .

I had to review the assembly video a few times before I was confident in tearing down the HU. I just removed the XM module because I never used it anyway.

 

I saw that you need to cut 1" or so from each side. just got the Baja rock lights for the sides also. need to figure wiring and a light for the back also for surf fishing/ hunting/camping.

I got the auxbeam 8 switch panel. I wish I’d have done that to begin with to be honest…it really cleans up the wiring. For the back I did extreme LED stackerz https://extremeledlightbars.com/extreme-stackerz-kits they’re nice lights and you can stack them anyway you like.
