There are a ton of people who agree the 727 was the best. Literally dozens of them.

Gotta admit it's pretty damn cool looking, like a big Bombardier LearJet

I would get on one and go to sleep while were taxing for a takeoff. Wake up refreshed after landing.

Biggest plane I've ever been on was a 767 maybe a 777 at one point but it would have been so long ago I don't remember it well. Nothing longer than a 6hr flight though

The 10-12hr flights drive you a little nuts for sure

    15hr ones are the worst

I could sleep on most flights from JFK to Schipol. But coming home I just couldn't sleep on that 8 hour run.

Last night around 9pm Rebecca and I were watching a show on the couch, suddenly 4 cop cars stop right out front with lights on (no sirens thank god, we had just gotten River down again), followed by fire dept and paramedics. Looked like they were getting ready to run right into our house when they cornered the yard and went into the next door neighbors.

Not entirely sure what happened but there is an elderly woman that lives there :( Pretty sure they loaded her up in an ambulance that came later so hopefully she's alright.

I know the cops usually show up to EMT calls but damn, 4 of them screeching to a halt in front of our place had me sweating that they were about to go seal team 6 on someone

I was thinking of where youve taken a 15 hour flight to. Somewhere in Asia maybe?

What kind of plane do you fly on for deployments? Is it one of those cargo planes, or a regular jetliner?

Also I’m surprised you didn’t import a sweet diesel 80 series while you were there.

We flew commercial all the way to Kuwait, from there we were on C130

Flying out of Iraq we went C130 as well to Kuwait, then commercial from Kuwait to Germany to Maine and back to Cali

Funny thing is, since my platoon was the first to get to Iraq from our company, that meant we were the first to go back home

Something happened where second and third platoons couldn't fly commercial air from Kuwait to Germany so they took C130s and it took forever; this happened on our second tour

They had to stop to refill somewhere in between as well
