Was cleaning up under the hood (I've started doing this as a habit just to keep tabs on fluid levels, etc.) and this bit with the red wire looks a little ragged - as if the wrap was meant to go all the way to the connector but was pulled back? It seems like there are some capped off wires inside next to the single red wire. Does anyone know what this is for? Would it be a good idea to put some wire wrap on this exposed part up to the plug?

This is a 2020 OR. (would be interested to know what it looks like in your truck)

That’s ugly, you need to throw some baking soda in there with some warm water and clean that up ASAP

Looks like its Connector EG1, the wire goes to the S terminal on the starter.

As best I can tell it goes to the coil of the starter. If you follow the wire from the left side of the connector, it should go there.

Thanks for the sleuthing. Seems kind of an important wire to not be wrapped? This hasn't been touched since I drove it off the lot.
