I would say the enduro by specialized because you can do a little of everything, DH and XC. But other than that, i rode a few Santa Cruz bikes and they were pretty Legit.

Ive also heard good things about the Giant Reign, and the Giant Anthem

    http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-us/bikes/model/anthem.x1/7319/44086/

or if you want to go balls to the walls and get a DH go for this beast

I'm almost positive the Heckler was the one i rode last year and it was slick. I am more of a DH rider but this thing was able to handle some pretty massive abuse. If you do go with it my word of advise would to be throw out the "Rock Shocks" and get FOX. rock shocks are junk, and I run Fox (and marzocchi) on my bike and they are just incredible.

this is what i ride (just an older version)

for XC i would go with the Float series for the rear and if you can afford it then yea go with the Talas fork, if you considering DH you need the DHX, and the 40 fork

i have the DHX on my beast

Ive got a 19", you don't need to get a new rim, they make them for 18 and 19" wheels.
