Tundras need tow hooks or I'm not interested. Atleast add an after market bumper

Yep I think Motortrend or some magazine made that same comment about the Tundra and I was perplexed, as they surely know it is fake sound.
It seems to be becoming a common though, Ford has been doing it for years with the ecoboost.

I am not sure if the dealer can go in and turn it off, I would think they can. The automatic Tacomas also have active noise canceling though, which is said to make them quieter on the highway so I feel like it would shut that off as well.

If it is like the Tundra they can turn off just the fake engine noise. There is a separate option for the active noise canceling (ESE vs ANC). Can be done at home with Carista as well.

Ask the engineer, says it was for fuel savings or crash impact. Odd that for and GM can still do it though

Sounds like BS like the drum brakes are better for off-road comments.

Oh sweet that is good to know, I don't see why they'd make the Tacoma any different.

The lead Tacoma engineer says when describing the TRD Pro exhaust noise @ 14:00 "...we're also using electronic sound enhancement to help especially inside of the cabin to make this thing sound every bit as well as we could."

Speakers. They use speakers???????? fake exhaust sounds. WTF

For a 46k truck, this is a terrible looking interior. ph90f3f4cufc1.jpg
That bezel surrounding the HU is just trash, but the rest of it is very poverty spec looking. That dash and center stack...oof.

With TTL, no way this looks like a 50k truck.

Wow, that area around the screen honestly looks like plastic from a Childrens toy.

It does look like 5 different teams designed it and didn't talk to each other. I suppose you could call it eclectic artsy in the 2024 brochure, which by the way, is still NOT posted on the Toyota website.

The multimedia screen is completely ghetto and the gray toggle switches are trash. I saw another Tacoma trim where the screen power/volume control knob was between the climate controls, WTF? Also not a fan of the busy inside door panels or the Tacoma badging on the glove box. No hurry to buy one of these.
