Yours ends in spring too huh? Ours is late March. Right now we are planning to strike unless they give us something better before then.

Day 3... If would be ideal if the ground was frozen solid, but the temperature is great for working outside.

I've found two tops that broke off and fell straight down impaling themselves in the ground. The y look like complete trees at first glance. They get notched and cut just like a real tree. The other one I cut, I couldn't budge the part that was stuck in the ground, it's still there somewhere.

My theory is that if I buy a tool for a specific job, and it would have cost more to pay someone to do the work, the tool was better than free. :D

I thought this mill had been closed for years. Guy called me yesterday and said he had a leak in his mixing unit.

    upload_2024-1-31_22-2-54.jpg

The leak. Someone halfway patched it.

    upload_2024-1-31_22-3-32.jpg

Told him I can do better than that. He said can you weld it? Mill was built in 1961 after it burnt down. I said I’m not striking an arc in this building. He said we have water. I said nope but I’ll fix it better than it is.

We agreed on Saturday at 8:30. Ask my wife if she has anything planned and she looked at her calendar and said no but you do. You and Cole are going to help clean out that building at the orphanage.
I forgot a guy at church ask for help about 6 weeks ago and I told him Cole and I would be there. Figured it would be a good experience for Cole…..and me.

I said fine, I’ll take Cole to work with me Friday and we’ll do it on the way home. :D

I had a friend build me some cabinets. For the crown molding, he could either buy it from the lumber store or buy sticks of 1x3 plus the router bit, run his own and have the bit for future use for roughly the same price. No brainer for that one.

I give my wife an estimate of what I saved us when I do my own work.

For example, with the front brake I did last weekend, “Honey, that just saved us $500.”

I try not to embellish too much as to not cause suspicion

Good morning everyone, I hope you have a nice Thursday :hattip:
