I see literally nothing wrong with this besides the bezel being too big. This is easily the nicest Tacoma interior to date IMO.

Thing about the bezel is it is a good place to steady your hand when pressing the screen.

I can’t keep up with y’all, every time I come back to this thread I’m 1k comments behind. The new Tacoma is cool and all but I’m looking forward to the new Land Cruiser. Esp for around the same amount of coin.

I like the LC a lot, especially now in context to Tacoma’s platinum prices. Plus somehow the LC has the dashboard that the Tacoma should’ve gotten.

But, it’s a rebadged Prado, not an actual Land Cruiser, and the theoretical “mid-50’s” price that Toyota is teasing doesn’t get you power seats. Which brings the spotlight to the mysterious next-gen 4Runner.

If they’re all the same rock-solid TNGA-F underneath, and they’re all subjectively attractive, then it comes down to intended purpose (bed or no bed), and the features to price ratio, which as we know, the new Taco flunks at.

Drive one? Nah, YouTube did that for us.

But I hear the Super Bowl commercial is going to be really cool.

It's both. They've always been a lighter variant Land Cruiser. It's definitely a Land Cruiser.

I agree that in North America, it soon will be a Land Cruiser, b/c the badge says so, like in Australia. But underneath, it’s also a Tacoma, it’s a Prado, it’s a 4Runner. And frankly, if it looks cool & drives great, I don’t care…unless I’m paying a hefty premium for the badge.

If your literal definition of the Land Cruiser is the bespoke successor to 60-80-100-200, built exclusively in its own factory with the LX, which is the definition that we’ve accepted in the USA for decades, then the new one is at least subject to personal interpretation.

I drove an FJ Cruiser, which was a 2-door Prado. Great truck, however, no illusions that I was driving a 2-door Land Cruiser though.

The US/North America 2024 is a 250 series Land Cruiser says Toyota and everyone else but you can call it what you want.

The dash is garbage as well. When the display is on it is even worse somehow.

Toyota makes them, they’re all good, so Toyota marketing press releases can call them whatever they want. People will pay more for the heritage the name invokes, so spread it out. Ford sells lots of Bronco Sports, cancelling the Escape.

As I said, if it’s a great ride and if the badge says Land Cruiser, doesn’t matter. But I’m not getting a $50k discount for a 300 series if I buy a 2024 *Land Cruiser. And I might buy it.

Did they take a Nintendo Switch and glue it to the dash?

Well the 250 LC and 300 LC are different LC's. You can't get a 2024 300 series in the USA anyway. The 2024 250 series is the only LC (soon) available so it all works out.

The TRD and up interiors look ok IMO. But the SR and SR5 interiors are too low rent for their price. They look cheap, but aren't cheap. The use of multiple colors and relocation of a few things like the power button for the radio and start/stop button do amazing things. Knocking down the bezel on the HU and dash does a lot as well.

All the competitors do the same by adding colors and textures between trims, but even if you look at a Z71 interior, or XLT, it looks higher grade than the SR5. Frontier is noticeably worse IMO.

And Ovals were big in the late 90's lol. Now it is Transformers caught mid transformation shapes.

I do hate where the Hazard button is on all of them though.
