I can't even figure out old games. Idk how to move my curser from one screen to the other. MSFS it works but GTA it's locked into the one screen.
    My guess is 38.
Same, and I live here. Maybe I'm far enough from the coast
    Doubt

No that coward went radio silent everywhere

He still owes 19 people a turbo kit, 19 people he took $6800.00 from and delivered nothing but lies to

Right - the new (higher) wages earned would constitute a better lifestyle if they remained in an area where cost of living was still the same

I've seen what you've described as happening as well so yeah, good point

Dude, fucking property taxes in Texas are nuts

They pay up the ass each and every year in a way that makes it seem super cheap here in CA

I'd have to set aside cash each year for my rental if I was having to pay that shit out here like they do in TX

    @Speedytech7

You might not know but was Joey still subletting his work or did he use that money to fill his own shop with new tools?

I know stuff that got CNC milled and lasered and shit were all being done for him

I'm sure he was having parts made outside his shop, lots of parts. He wasn't actually all that talented at anything except coordination and measuring. Problem is when that's your only talent... you have to keep all the plates spinning for your business and he just couldn't manage it.

yeah they are spread thin trying to afford enough space to keep all the same hobbies, which is what I would see as my own issue too

I probably need to invest more and spend less, but thats how life be?

I know for sure all his aluminum stuff, like the filler plates, etc as well as one off parts like the 80 series steering pump emergency plug (I have mine still)

Just didn't know if he just kept the money for personal use or used it to try to bring that work in-house

But yeah if he has no actual experience in making parts himself then that makes a lot of sense

Yeah I don't believe he was manufacturing anything himself. He was a one man operation and even the smallest of his sheetmetal creations would have been a fulltime job of its own. He was always packing orders of OEM or things he made (kits and repair bits) doubt he'd have any time to actually make anything.

Yeah, like mentioned I've seen what you described happen (and it happens often)

Those that wanted the lower cost of living and the bigger wages got stuck with a long ass commute

Some years ago when we had huge and heavy rainfalls, where even the 101 got flooded (was on the news how people going to/fro the Bay Area) were waiting as long as 4-7 hours just to get home from their 1 hour commute

When we lived in Aptos my Dad would have to commute to Salinas everyday. CA coast makes physically going to work hard unless you happen to live at work.

    Lifestyle creep is real.
Property tax should be illegal. My brother makes 3x as much as me, lives in Hollywood and we live equivalent life styles. I think there are more extremes in CA but someone let out the secret about how the West is Best and well, here we are.

yeah I'm in a trifecta situation in my opinion (high pay, mcol, <60hrs a week), downside being KY only has so much to offer, but more than I think you guys think lol

I had given the guy the benefit of a doubt as @eon_blue and I joked about it amongst ourselves

He and I both bought a CV axle seal driver kit (super useful), and I think we only ordered a day apart

Well, mine arrived practically next day and his took over a week; I ran into a post on FB of his where his wife had just had surgery or some shit so we were like oooh fuck that makes sense

Fast forward to now and he's really been a crook for a long fucking time, we just didn't know it

    This right here.

I love the weather out here for sure, and I'd have to say the midwest for me was absolutely the worst

You couldn't pay me to live out there
