    I've got a vic polyvac and a carbon exile. Love to skim since the surf is always pretty crappy on the gulf coast.

    I like it, it's alot faster than the vic and you can get out alot further because it's so light. The only thing that i dont like is that it is almost too light. On windy days, you really have to plant the board when you drop it or else you'll have some black and blue toes.

    How does the coating hold up? Is it wearing down or getting roughed up?

    If this was for me, it holds up very good. The carbon fiber is much stronger than the fiberglass. You have your normal scratches from the sand and shells but the carbon board has no dings and dents like the fiberglass one does and they both have the same amount of use.

    ahh, all you cali boys! i skim the east coast, mostly NJ and southern DE...was riding a yellow grape carbon for a while, have since switched to a black zap carbon (a buddy of mine rides for them and got it for me dirt cheap, custom bottom art and everything!)
