Ovrlnd Camper ideas and bs

Curious if anyone has windows in their flip-up side hatch or barn doors. I think the size is 20" x 12" Wondering if these have sliding screens as well. Thinking if these do have sliding screens I might be able to easily fashion a pass-through for a diesel heater hose without needing to drill into the camper or truck.

 

Answered my own question. Looks like OVRLND does have sliding windows and sliding screens in their small hatch windows.

Dave: that rig looks great, love to see an access cab with a ovrlnd. Picking mine up in a week, excited.

I saw in an earlier post you had racks on top, do they at all interfere with the fan? Planning on keeping my surf boards on racks and was wondering about the fan not being able to pop up.

My towers got ripped off going into places I shouldn't have gone
I honestly can't remember how much room there was between the cross towers and the maxxair cover. I'm pretty sure you could at least crack it open a few inches for ventilation though.
You should post some pictures once you get it installed on your truck.

Thanks for the reply. I figured there might be a way to get it to open just a small amount with my boards on. Planning on posting some photos! Got tons of ideas for a build, not 100% sure what direction I am going in yet.

 

@Dave-rass Any pics of how you ended up installing your heater? I see the exhaust fitting on the side of your camper there, wondering how you did the inside

 

This is the only picture I have and it was right after i got it installed. IGNORE THE WIRING MESS. HAHA.
They tell you not to install these this way because if you mess up (if your exhaust leaks) you can die, but they also install these in marine applications so i figured id give it a try. So do this at your own risk.
The exhaust is a marine exhaust and is not the same that comes with your heater. It is specifically designed for yaughts/ boats.
I used some hight temp gasket sealer and some exhaust wrap. It has been running for 2 years with no issues. It has been really great to have.

I also use a carbon monoxide alarm and smoke detector. Also keep a fire extinguisher in close proximity.
I wouldn't try this with a knock off heater for what it's worth.

What is everyone using for cable management at the hinge point?

What hardware works for the channels supporting the bed?

 

I'm just using some wire loom and zip ties.
There are lots of choices for hardware.
I have attached a photo of the hardware that I used. Amazon and tnutz are good suppliers of all things hardware. Depending on what you are doing I would just order a few different sizes of hardware and see what works best for your application.
Here are a few of the items below. I couldn't find all of them but this should help.
