OP, there is one thing you can do while you fight to get your money back, contact the Press, get them involved. They are always looking for an abused consumer story, and this guy is not going to like the bad publicity. And just maybe it'll keep someone else from going down the road you went.

File a police report for documentation since he threated to knock you out. Does he have your address or other personal info? Gotta be a little careful as who knows what he is capable of.

 

$75K will get you a fully restored LC 60 or 40 series., just saying.

 

Receipts, documentation, picture’s and a $75k lawyer might do it. I’m a firm believer in karma and dirty deeds done dirt cheap

If he's simply staying silent on advice of his lawyer, he wouldn't threaten to beat you. Sounds like organized crime owns his shop and controls his hand.

Handing over 76k had better come with some kind of concrete plan for meeting deadlines.
Like "by this date (blank) will be completed" and "I'll be this far along in the process by this date" etc..
