Anybody know of a way to straighten a steering wheel without touching the alignment. Dealer said its seized so couldn't fix it. Debating if I can just do something to the steering shaft to realign it. Its very much noticeable how off center it is.

I mean you could disconnect the intermediate shaft and try to eyeball it back on. Wheels on the ground, 2 people

What’s seized? Any reason not to replace it?

Normally, you straighten the wheel out and adjust the front end during alignment. If the front end is seized, how did they align it or was it just good enough the way it's seized up? I guess I have the same question as @AllTacosFloat and wondering what's actually seized up.

They had replaced the alignment bolts so I'm not really sure. Maybe it's the tie rods? But it's the dumb infiniti lol

That's what it sounds like, but for the tie rod ends to be seized would be unusual. The alignment bolts, like with the Tacoma, can seize solid and not move, but the tie rods are just threaded rods. Usually some Liquid Wrench and maybe some heat and they'll free up unless they're ridiculously crusty. But then I'd go back to, if they were that bad, how did they align the vehicle?

Align the steering wheel straight. Then turn the tie rod end adjusters to shorten the (wheel) side that is turning out and lengthen the (wheel) side that is turning in. Turn it the same amount and you don’t adversely affect toe.

Did my taxes tonight - I always think this option on the MA return is pretty funny.

Has its ups and downs. Mine is 1.5 miles away so spending next to zero time commuting is awesome. Used to be 15 minutes and even then it was nice.

I did the grunt work thing for a while. When I leave and i see the framers working on the extension at the old folks home working outside in 10 degrees, and i pull up to the office and walk in and make a coffee and sit down at my nice heated cubicle..... I'm fine with it. I did my grunt work time, way less than you and i know a bunch of others here, but it was enough for me.

Absolutely less active, for sure. If being able to "sit" for the day isn't an option, it'll be tough. One of my coworkers is 70 something and has a stand up desk. Doesn't even have a chair. I have one of them pokemon desks that goes up and down.

All depends on the people you work with. If the people suck, the place is gonna suck. I at least for the most part know what to expect for the day going to the same place, unlike other trades where weather or people's homes or businesses can determine how a job is going to go.

I work with a great group of guys but upper management on the other hand... plus you'd be literally down the road from me if you ever needed anything

Nailed it! Going to a place every day with a toxic environment or even where there’s no sense of teams or friendship gets old. Stupid shit like everyone having lunch in a break room vs going back to their respective desks to eat alone actually makes a big difference. Otherwise it can start to get monotonous.

Former elementary school teacher Mrs. SpruceMica noticed that far fewer kids got sick when our schools still had a February vacation. Her theory is that getting the kids away from each other for a week kept everyone healthier for the rest of the winter and spring. Moving the break to April was too late.

Interesting - in MA most districts do a February break and an April break and have for as long as I can remember.

This year we're due to get out on June 11th because we have no snow days so far.

Next year we might get a full two weeks for the December holiday break too - because of where Christmas lands. I don't think they've built the calendar for that yet.

this year I have been assigned to an elementary school, needless to say I’ve been sick at least 3 weeks each month, being away for the week at least allows me to start the next week feeling good. My immune system should be stellar soon.
