ASSHOLE PARKING

I would usually be empathetic to your position but where I work, there isn't even a disabled parking spot.
There used to be one years ago, but it got highjacked/sign removed and turned into two normal spots.
It is an old mill building [late 1800's] by the river in a postage stamp size 'community' in a very rural area; only half the building is even accessible to someone in a wheelchair.
The grass is flat next to the sidewalk so it isn't too bad.

All the wheelies and persons with walkers get dropped of at the door of the establishment they are patronizing - I see it regularly.
If I saw one wheelie or walker out on that sidewalk by the road, I might think twice but until then, it is what it is.


FYI - I am disabled [tags on my truck n all]. I need extra space to get in/out of my vehicle.
It just isn't possible there so I have to make do and be real careful not to let my door ding the car next to me while crawling in/out.

I was sitting in a parking lot for a while and kept hearing a car alarm, it would honk every 2-3 minutes.

When leaving I was curious and found the car... Cruddy parking job, but why the repeating alarm?

Say you illegally park in a handicap spots without saying you illegally park in handicap spots.

Let business enforce their parking rules. I had non-HC people park in the HC space, or in the flower beds when I had a restaurant. I called LEO and tow companies, not a random Joe off the street. I did that because it impacted MY guests. I would be pissed beyond measure if someone else called a tow company on the Mother's day when I had a full parking lot, 100 people in line and 4 crew No-Shows. I sent parking attendants out during busy times (one of the Assistant managers), if needed. My business, my rules.
Having said that, if business does not enforce their HC parking, they need to hear from the impacted customers or employees. It is a bad business practice showing bad employee management.

 

Back on topic. Hit a gold mine of mouth breathing wrong parkers. There was plenty more of parking available, just 2 rows over.

 

I have valid tags, as I have covered/addressed multiple times in this thread.
I am often directly impacted by those who illegally park in disabled spaces.
I cope.

The other day we went to a hiking area with a gravel lot with no spots marked where everyone always parks perpendicular. A couple cars had parked correctly and a couple others were angle parked. My wife wanted to park near the angled cars so she thought she should angle park too until I pointed out that we'd look like jerks when those cars left before us and we were the only ones angle parked in the lot.

You do not see a difference between the calling out stupid parking jobs and calling po-po on the business that you have no relationship to whatsoever and that does not impact you in any way? I know that education system in US sucks, but they should teach at least some reasoning skills?

 

i don't feel bad for getting an asshole a handicap parking ticket. Taking a handicap spot is one of the shittiest selfish things a motor vehicle operator can do. Also. Has no impact on the business unless it is the owner doing it, in which case they deserve two

Driving while under the influence is the shittiest, selfish things a driver can do; a close second is driving without insurance.
Those actions have actual victims and do real harm.

The police aren't gonna do jack - they are grossly understaffed and have real problems to solve.
