I purchased my tacoma not too long ago. Previous owner had an HPS intake and RIPP coil packs with no tune. He gave me the stock intake so the first thing I did was swap it back, but he did not have the OEM coil packs. Fast forward to today, I get a check engine light and I'm reading code P0355 (IGNITION COIL "E" PRIMARY SECONDARY CIRCUIT). Does anyone know anything about these RIPP coil packs that I can do to fix this? Or any coil packs that I can replace these with that aren't as expensive as the OEM ones?

You wouldn’t be the first to have issues with RIPP coils.
And you probably won’t be the last to fix the issue by getting rid of the RIPP and going back OE.

Why did the previous owner swap coils?

There is a very slight possibility you have a bad IGF signal to the ECM, but unlikely.
Knowing the history of the RIPP coils, I bet it’s the coil (#5 in your case)

Because the intake and coils really make the truck rip man. Lol.

Yep. 50 some bucks. That's what I would do. Just change them all.

    All the things!
They're called Ripp (off) for a reason. Back to stock is my recommendation.

Check junk yards for cost savings
