I'm thinking about replacing my worn-out wiper blades with Michelin 30-171HP (high performance??) conventional non-beam or Trico conventional non-beam.

    Anybody have recommendations?

(I've been using Genuine Toyota Parts for the last 26 years but Toyota no longer sells the inserts, and their blades cost $25 each.)

I replace mine every year: last year with the "Rain x" brand, and this year, I went with the new (to me) "Bosch Icon" wipers. So far (3 snowstorms and a million rainstorms) they work great and were easy to install.

I second the Icons. Been using them for years. Get them at Autozone and purchase the extended warranty for $3 each. Gives you two years coverage. Here’s the kickback you can purchase another extended warranty on the next set that were covered under warranty. I haven’t paid more than $6 for a set in a long time. Replacing them annually.

I have the PIAA silicon wipers, they cost a lot ($20+) but you get a lot. Going into my 3rd year with them and they don't streak or make noise. Parked outside year round in the sun, rain, and snow. And it makes the windshield bead water way better.

There are less expensive silicon wipers that are well rated, but I didn't want to buy the beam type. If your the sort of person who only replaces them once they stop working, silicon is the way to go.

I also have the Icons and they work great so far. Only about 2 months old though.

Rain X, I live in Colorado and they hold up well with the snow/rain we get. I replace every year.

I've gone through at least 5 sets of blades in the 6 years I've had this truck, but I live in an area that has ice and freezing (garaged daily.) Currently have the Bosch Icons, but it seems like no matter how much I throw at them they split in a year or so anyway. Next set will be the cheapest I can find and I'll get two or 3 sets, pretty much accepted no matter how much money I throw at it they're going bad before I think they should.

I've been using the same PIAA wipers for like 4 years. Lots of 115° weather and I park my Tacoma outside. They still work as if they were new.

I'm going to try the OE one next time. Someone reported a huge performance difference.

Running Toyota "Winter Blades" currently. Pretty happy with them, very similar to the Bosch all weather wipers I had purchased 2 years ago.

It's crazy how wipers are 50$ for 2 now.

I've tried a number of blades over the years, on three Tacomas and other vehicles.

The OEM Toyota rubber inserts are by far the best I've ever used! Easy-peasy to change in the original frames and pretty cheap at the dealer. Highly recommended.
