Good idea, time to put all that frustration behind.

From October 23rd, 2023 through January 28th, 2024 I earned $1,965.58 driving for DoorDash; $297.22 of that was earned this year.

I started doing Uber Eats again on November 13th, 2023; I earned $617.67 from November 13th, 2023 through January 28th, 2024. I earned $163.75 of that this year.

For January 2024, I have earned a combined total of $460.97 from both DoorDash and Uber Eats. From October 2023 to December 2023, I earned a combined total of a little over two grand from both DoorDash and Uber Eats.

None of this money includes my scrapping money, money earned for doing various odd jobs, and money received from friends and relatives as Christmas gifts.

Do you have a spreadsheet with all those values?

You should add up fuel costs, maintenance, etc, to see where your bottom line is at.

I don't even want to think about it; this was only intended to maintain the truck and keep money in my pocket until I found steady employment. As for scrapping, that's more of a hobby that occasionally yields a significant profit. If it weren't for the goddamn ABS module giving out, I wouldn't have spent much on maintenance for the truck. Gas actually isn't too bad during the winter. It's during the summer when I'm cranking the A/C that my truck has a bit of drinking problem...

My career at Domino's Pizza was over before it even started; I went in today at 5pm for my final orientation, and I found out that I was expected to work 11 hours on my first day, most of which likely would not have been delivering pizzas. My first day would have been this Monday, and I would have worked from 1pm to 12am, at $8 per hour plus tips.

It was also only today that I found out I was replacing a driver who was about to be fired, rather than helping to make a team of drivers bigger. This driver who is about to be shitcanned is known for showing up to work high on weed, driving really slow on deliveries, and begging customers for tips. He has gotten a lot of complaints from customers, and manager planned to fire him on my first day. They are very short-staffed on drivers, but the answer isn't to overwork and underpay the new employee on his first day; I amicably quit, almost three days before I actually started. Now, we're back to the drawing board.

Sorry to hear that. I used to have shitty hours at the pizza place way back when l did that, the 2 hardest days were 5pm - 2am Friday night and right back Saturday morning from 8am - 7pm.

    Overworked and underpaid?
    Isn’t that the normal?

    Was this full time job?

I worked 14 hours straight at Puck once and it didn't faze me one bit...

No it wasn't, and at $8 an hour it pays worse than DoorDash...

That’s where the 11 hours makes sense.
I never tipped if I picked up, so you weren’t making more than $8 unless you were delivering.

    I support this decision

Assuming you are putting effort into finding a better job. Preferably one where you’re not racking up miles on the Taco.

Depends how bad he needs the money. From what I’ve gathered about Charlie, doesn’t sound like this job would have went well.

This job has a poor bullshit-to-pay ratio; I haven't worked a shift of more than 8 hours since 2019, by the way...

I’d rather make pizzas and draw overtime @8/hr than deliver pizzas.

There just comes a point when I have to start thinking about my mental health. If the guy who hired me had been honest from the beginning, maybe I would have stayed and given it a try; I don't take kindly to people who aren't honest and/or try to hustle me.

The thing is, that I didn't apply to make pizzas; I believe the pizza makers actually get paid more than the delivery drivers, and why should I do someone else's job for less pay?
