The $299 one is in stock in store but doesn't come with the speed feed head. This one is $267 but you have to order it, it does have the speed feed head.

4.5/5 is pretty good. Never had and issue with mine.

 

I think there were some issues with the first build design where the O/L would trip and not let it run or cutout right after starting IIRC. For the price it’s still sitting in my cart ready for checkout. Hard to justify when I already have a gas trimmer and the Ryobi 18v where the motor is on the battery side. They both already have interchangeable attachments so I would have to start over with getting all the quick-loc attachments.

 

I've got this set up with the easy load trim head. It can be finicky but not a deal breaker. When my head (on the trimmer) gives out I'll buy another one or maybe look at other brands. 3 things about the head: don't use anything but round trimmer string. The edged string will bunch up on the spool. The edged stuff doesn't cut better anyway IMHO. Also the way you wind the string when re spooling. Don't overload and be diligent when winding that you don't wind to tight. I think there are little red arrows or marks on the spool that show when the holes are aligned for re spooling. Mine are worn off but whenever the string is used up the holes always seemed to be lined up. I guess that's 4 things.

 

I tried running mine with the guard removed. If too much string is out of the spool it will overload and cut out. I was trying to figure out if the guard had some sort of sensor on it but couldn't tell. As soon as I put the guard back on, which regulates the length of the exposed string, it started running without cutting out. That's another reason I keep my Echo gas job. I can run it without the guard and let out a longer length of string.
PSA I know, not safe but I always wear a face shield when cutting without the guard.

 

This just arrived yesterday. It'll probably be a week or two before I really get to use it. I have an old B&D cordless that I got about 12 years ago. I still use it, but this new one will give me a longer reach. I chose this over the 60" long articulating one because many reviews said the longer one is heavy and can be quickly tiring to use. Me being 70 and in need of hernia surgery (again) I decided to just go with this one . . .

 

Stopped at homedepot just now to buy just box blades and walked out with a new drill.

 

Hate it when that happens.

 

Can attest to the heaviness of the articulating version. It's much better suited for ground level trimming, bushhogging, etc. Like a sickle. The shoulder strap helps a ton. I wouldn't want to use it above waist high for very long.

 

That's what I gathered from reading the reviews. This house we moved to over the summer does have some tall shrubs adjacent to the house, but I figure using this new one and a shorter ladder I will be able to reach everything. My old Black & Decker works like a charm, but it's basically designed like a regular corded trimmer so if you want to trim a large shrub (think deep) you really have to stretch out your arms and then you still can't hardly reach the back end of the shrub. This new attachment should help greatly with that. Plus it will give me extra height without having to grab for the ladder. Probably enough to reach the top front of the tall shrubs that line my driveway..

 

i've got the first build design. slightly irritated i didn't wait for the ezlok version with the edger attachment. i made my own. it's not super happy if i take too large of bites, but does run it.

I was not knocking Milwaukee as a destination. I was thinking that once I got there I might come home with an H-D pulling a trailer full of tools .

 

I picked this up at Home Depot on Friday. I've been wanting to buy a new radio for awhile, and I like having both AM/FM and Bluetooth options.



They wanted $189. I checked online, and it was being advertised for $179 everywhere else, so I asked them to price match. Then, as I showed them the price on Farm and Fleet's website, it said "see low price in cart" or something similar, so I clicked, and they were selling it for $154! Home Depot matched, saving me a trip. If anyone else is looking, Farm and Fleet is still selling it for $154.

I got a chance to crank it up yesterday. It's plenty loud for me for jobsite use, and ran for about 5 hours on a 2.0 battery, which still showed 2 bars when I was packing up.

I'm totally happy with the purchase! If anyone else is looking at this radio, go for it!

 

my absolute most favorite feature to milwaukee radios is that they're cubes. way easier to stash and stack anywhere being a square/rectangle of some sort instead of that stupid dewalt exoskeleton thing that just ends up in the way everywhere.
