I finally gave in (actually wife did) and I got the lift, tires and rims. I've had the truck for 5 years and I've taken it everywhere but it was in need of some new shoes. I got the Pro Comp 3" lift. The lift wasn't to hard to do. I absolutly love it. It rides great (stiff, but perfect) and has a great look. Here's some pics. Thanks for all the great info guys. Next, I need to figure out where to mount a 33" spare tire????

Bump... because I like this thread. Still waiting on lift, but now I am thinking about wheels. What I want: black, maybe a little chrome, 17". Do not want the bro look wheels. I like the XD revolvers, any other suggestions?

Do any of you guys have VSC (stability control) on your trucks? Does this lift effect that system at all?

Is it because they look narrow? I looked at the pics again and they do look kinda narrow. I guess the pic was kinda bad. There 285/70r17. I tried to get 33x12.5 but the bfgoodrich mud terrain only come in 285/70 so I had to go with them. There a little over 11.5 inches wide and they are 33 inchs tall. I'm kinda glad that I didn't get some that are 12.5 inchs wide considering I had to cut some of the wheel well so they'd stop rubbing and they still rub if I hit a big bump with the steering wheel and full lock. But I can manage with a little rub.

By the way, thanks for the comments. I love my truck and I wouldn't have any other truck. I'm just glad I could finally fix her up some.

Over the weekend I was sitting on the fence on which lift to go with on my 2010 DC. It was between the 5100's or the Pro Comp. After reading through this post with all the info, I was sold on this lift and purchased it today at 4wheelparts with install this friday!

For tires I'm thinking about either the 285/70/17 Hankook RT03's or Duratracs, for wheels still looking :p

sorry for kinda thread jacking but i kinda want to do the same thing....

im thinking about 5100's with ome c/o's(full leaf pack in rear with billies) and that thin 1/2" plate on the C/O's. but if i got a diff drop i would still need new UCA's right?

    Pretty much stock
diff drop and uca's have nothing to do with eachother.

with that being said you are really in the wrong thread....you need to be looking at 1st gen lift options/threads. I'm sure the lift threshold for needing uca's is different between 1st/2nd gens, just because we need them at 3 inches does not mean you will.
