The Tacoma is primarily designed to get you stylishly to those hipster outdoor stores in the suburbs. As well as give cubicle dwelling men some faint masculinity during their online Teams meeting yogacize. Look at me HR, I'm doing Teams yogacize! Katie surely wont get promoted over me, I'm yogasizing!

Otherwise, it was a bad idea to rev yourself silly with tire spin back in the day. Now with these absurdly complex machines, you are going to bust them up in a really expensive sort of way. Spin, tire catch, twist, snap; the next week the engine goes clicky clacky. The week after that Katie has a DEI reorientation of the office, you're out the door and they keep your yoga mat. The week after that your happy-pill popping, $12 latte drinking, wife leaves you for Toki the yogacize guy. Just saying...Hitting the rev limit leads to you taking your not quite right suburbanite kids Brynlee, Caleb, and Aspen to the zoo on your scheduled weekend.

Ah, this must be your first day on the internet. You'll go far with that attitude. Probably as far as you go bouncing off the rev limiter.

I cant imagine sending a tacoma out swamping bouncing off a limiter.

I always feel like people are over tasking the truck when they talk about this stuff, or they have oem tires.

Wut ya blabbing bout? I'm an aficionado of mud fest videos.

EDIT: it might appear that I'm beiung condescending, but the truth is I could totally see myself fitting in at one of these events. My taco wears mud much of the time.

Dang! Sorry I’m late for the party I was out getting us all some beer and popcorn. I hit a small puddle in the liquor store parking lot, bounced the engine off the limiter and well shit you know the rest. I’m here so drink up and be merry…

I refuse to do this anymore to my daily driver. What a freaking pain. I'm on offroad bikes right now and its much easier to load it covered in 50% mud then wash it on a trailer after.

My whole offroading group wont do mud anymore. We're all sick of it.

many won't unless they have dedicated rigs. If I ever get in to any kind of off road hardcore, I would build or buy a SxS or something dedicated. I never had any interest in the mud runs, I can over consume alcohol from the couch.

I agree. Mud is fun, but not as fun as more technical type stuff. I tend to avoid it in my old age, but it's not possible to avoid it entirely in Minnesota.

In the pic I posted I was on frozen ground until I hit a soft spot and broke through the 1" or so of frozen ground into muddy soup. Then the temp rose over night and no one wanted to bring a rig within 300 yards of my taco. What a mess. Luckily I was walking distance from my girlfriend's.

If you need 4lo to get enough power to spin tires to clear mud…then you probably need 4hi and a less gutless engine.

    Or lighter tires I guess?

Seems like no one else in this thread drives their truck like an idiot. I do, so you’re in luck. 2nd clip of that vid is how I work around the limiter cut thing, just let off and get back on super fast.
