Mine was married before, right out of HS. Apparently he got a loan for the ring, with both their names on it ended up splitting up, he didn't care to make payments so she put the ring on a car loan or some shit

And yes the added car debt basically makes us upside down in her car, that's been broken since August 25 which is also the day we moved into our house

I will be debt free by next weekend (at least that's the plan). Gonna ride that for as long as I can.

I thought about that, and I don't know if that even matters. The way it works in Idaho is I'm entitled to personal property I owned prior to the marriage, and the property acquired during the marriage is divided during a divorce. Maybe I got off easy not having to get lawyers in, maybe that muddies the waters. Regardless, I know better now what I need and what boundaries I need to have to ever consider going down that road again.
