Just watched the mic’d up replay of SB54 and I’m getting psyched! Make no mistake, a Chiefs loss will hurt, but I like a lot of the ‘Niners (starting with Kittle). Then there is the Purdy story, hard not to like. It will be a very short lived depression if my team loses.

Stat of the day, Chiefs/Reid/Mahomes are 3-0 against 49ers/Shanahan, but they were all with Jimmy G. Will Brock be the difference?

 

Who knows? A thing’s a thing until it’s no longer a thing. Some things never happen but for Kyle and John I believe it just hasn’t happened …yet. Trey was a desperation move. Jimmy was a stop gap, good but not great and was out or sub par due to injury and was costing more than his play and availability was worth. Still, so close. Brock has already replaced on offense what our defense has lost on defense and I believe he can only get better so if we go down the future still looks bright. It remains to be seen how good he can become, very few even come close to being as good as their draft status would indicate so if that metric has been surpassed, what’s next?

 

No excuses on that loss. Call all the holds and this and that all the niners fans want. Blown call on Kittle before the half time. End of the day, they had a 10 point lead. Plenty of time to get points and stops.

Got all the tools now to make things happen. At this point it’s all about execution. Most of all: EFFORT. No jogging or expecting the next man to tackle. Everyone has to give it their all for 60 clock minutes and some possibly. They do that, the world is theirs. If Mahomes makes sensational plays one after another, I can live with that.

 

But there is literally holding on every play.

 

Kittle did push off. But like the Eagles call at the end of last years game, I see the argument that it was to close of a call to make in a big game

I've been taste-testing Chile to put on hot dogs and narrowed it down to Wendy's Chile...have you guys tried them from the restaurant?

I found one in a can at Walmart in Middletown, DE and mentioned it to work manager...he was raving about STAGG Chile.

Anyhow, I bought a 6pack at Sam's club for like $19.95 which works out to $3.33 per.

Cool but if they call holds like that then it should’ve been the same when they held Bosa on that big play. What’s done is done. Refs need to keep an eye on the holds both ways and not favor a team because of swifties.

 

Agree in general , other than I don’t know if the Chiefs have gotten away with more holding than everyone or not, since they indeed have the most holding penalties called against them (2nd to the Cowboys). I guess everyone thinks they should have twice the calls against them as all other teams.

And Swifties weren’t watching SB54.

 

My perception is that if flags are kept in pockets the team that holds more gets more freebies. But the losing team will say “Not fair”. And the winning team will always say “So what. You crybaby”.
Win anyway. Life’s not fair. Why should this be different.

 

In upstate NY we do not have chile dogs. Our own version is called a Michigan or Red Hot. A spicey meat sauce with or without onions and mustard. I am not a fan of hotdogs so i just get the sauce on french-fries and cheese.

Chili Cheese Fries--those are great too!

I tried "Applegate" hot dogs (for my first time in ages) but the taste just wasn't what I was expecting.

So, I switched back to standard hot dogs and the Wendy's Chili with shredded Sharp Cheddar and it was perfect.

You've given me the idea to buy frozen French fries for Chili Cheese Fries now!

 

I know this is the ‘Trash Talk’ thread and I’m not done yet (all in fun). But the food talk has me hungry and wondering what everyone is doing for the big game. I’m smoking a brisket on the pellet grill. The better half will be getting some Costco Mac & Cheese for a side and whatever else strikes her (her Costco membership is why I can’t retire yet). Daughter is making deviled eggs. Guests will bring other sides and lots of desserts. I’ll be stuffed!

 

A little worried now, Stephen A. from ESPN says the Chiefs defense will win it. He’s wrong more than right (including the last two Chiefs playoff games).

 

They’re all wagging hoping theirs is correct. Expectations are boring real life is more unpredictable.

 

I turned on the Pro Bowl games for a minute and was amazed at how low this has sunk. Try to catch a punt while holding a bunch of other footballs. Long snap accuracy. Dodgeball. This shit is an embarrassment.

 

I actually don’t hate it and it looks like the players are having fun and it’s not something that you see every day in a show

 

I’m glad they’re not playing an actual game and getting hurt in the offseason, but my first thought when seeing the catch a punt with an armful of footballs thing was…this seems demeaning. Like paying someone to be a clown.

 

While stationed at Hickam AFB, Honolulu HI, our family got to attend ProBowls at a military discount price.

We arrived to base in April 1999 and departed in June of 2003.

Our kids were 9 and 4 during this time and I took my family just about every year.

I stopped watching the ProBowl a long time ago.
