It's more like those who don't use it pay for those who do, but that's not necessarily wrong per se.

i didn’t see that post until now :D

Nope I was honest with the appraiser, dirt road showed him it on a map and an estimate of where I think it had happened. Was honest with service techs they’re not going to be able to fix an issue caused by your brake caliper going underwater if they’re told it happened on a dry gravel road, for example. Told them I was going faster than I should have, saw a rock but it was taller than I thought it was, and tanked it.

but as mentioned I’ll be cancelling my insurance claim and driving it for a few more years and probably trade it in for a 4 cylinder SR in a number of years as a daily driver and then a secondary trail Jeep. That’s the thought right now but we’ll see in a few years time what I decide. For now I’m putting on sliders and easing off the throttle.

Toyota is wrong, Nothing in the pics is worth paying to get fixed. She sounds good and drives straight keep going. Get an alignment to start with. If you want to fix it in the garage start with a hammer.

well I will say Toyota isn’t wrong here. They are wrong that it’s unsafe to drive. And they are wrong about the source of the squeaking, since it’s coming from the right and it’s dented at the LCA in the left.

actually yeah maybe they are wrong.

I might bring it in for Toyota care might not we’ll see. I don’t drive much I’m at 5k now and had it since December I typically drive about 10k/year. So ultimately I’d get service to about 20k mayyyybe 25k miles.

Lol, you'll get there quicker by joining in on the most recent oil change thread. Just vehemently defend the recommended 10K mile intervals and hang on for dear life!

You're not nearly the first to try that strategy. The mods aren't exactly dum-dums and they do have the ability to arbitrarily change post counts from anywhere between zero and one million. If and when they spot someone gaming the count rule, don't say you haven't been warned.

One shouldn't have to get this creative to get posts up anyway.

Also also, the rule only applies to sellers. You can still DM the seller to buy. You just can't post crap to sell. And that's really no big loss. When I post sale stuff here, I put it on Craigslist at the same time. 95% of the time, someone on Craig's buys it first.

I have in a Jeep once. Snapped the pass side axle tube off a Dana 44.
Hit a submerged stump in a mudhole in Florida

    Learned three things

    A. Steering wheels break ribs
    B. Don’t go into the mudhole 1st
    C. There is often buried, unmovable objects in mudholes

    I don't want to.

So now what, am I not allowed to either? :boink:

100% still on the road. Smashed the ever living shit out of that cross member, and have another couple times. LCAs are still the same ones, though those should probably be done soon. I have an IFS skid and now a HC front and rear bumper. There's already a dent in the front - which, if I'm honest, looking back I am surprised the air bags didn't pop on that one, that was a good hit!

:notsure: I beat on the truck for fun. It's fun looking back on this post from 4-5ish years ago and how much damage there was and I was concerned, and now that much damage I wouldn't blink an eye over.

About 75k miles later (ODO just rolled over 80k) and she hasn't skipped a beat. I've taken it out to Texas in the summer, did a (not racing) cannonball run in it, take the seats out to sleep in the cab, the 5 highest speeds this truck has seen have been on logging roads, I bashed the bedsides off a rock and got a HC rear out of it, thing's covered in dents, scratches, trail rash, and caked in layers of mud that a geology student could study for a master's thesis. Taken it on blue and black level trails, and have had a ton of fun doing so.
