Had a pretty productive Sunday with the truck. Got my new fuel tank skid plate installed, rotated tires, and managed to get a couple bloody knuckles putting in my new War Fab tie rod sleeves. The drivers side tie rod end ball joint decided to be a son of a gun and I ended up mashing threads on the end of it. Attempted repair, but was unsuccessful, so off to Advance Auto for a replacement... Picked up a spare to have around as well.

Everything is all buttoned up now and I have an alignment and TPMS sensor reprogram scheduled for Wednesday. Productive day, but I'm gonna be sore tomorrow.

My poor tie rod puller was abused by my "I ain't messing around anymore" breaker bar and a large hammer. Mushroomed on both ends.

It was a very satisfying pop when it finally gave up the fight.

I try to forget religion and politics with every chance I get.

Damn that does look like a battle, glad you won! I feel so lucky and surprised I've never had one that bad, all my life they have come free by a good hammer whack on the adjoining side of the knuckle.

I use the ol hammer method to release the tie rod ends and upper ball joints. Hasn't failed me yet. I use a 3lb hammer and give the spindle a few wacks.

Yeah, I don't know what unholy forces were holding that driver's side one in. I whacked it and the knuckle every which way. The final slam on the top of the puller, one after I really mushroomed the top, was the killer blow. I've never had one give me that much trouble. Makes me wonder if it was wedged slightly somehow. I should have probably inspected it after I got it out instead of throwing it down the driveway. The passenger side came out just fine.

That looks familar to me today! Had my pitman arm puller out centering the wheel on the first gen. Been off 3-4” for the last 3 years and I finally got around to moving the arm one spline over so I could adjust the draglink as intended for wheel centering.

Broke out my new toe plates too. I’d always set toe off the wheel/tire in the past and now I wonder why I didn’t buy these sooner. Knocked out both the dually and the first gen super quick. Tacoma was toed in 1/4” so it got left there, dually was toed out 1/8” so it got set to 1/8” toe in. Guess my old method was more accurate than I gave it credit for!
