Yeah, the world is getting weird that way. Some people I've noticed have no ability to do technical things, and then pass that on to their kids. My gf is technically apt, but her parents can't fix shit, so she never learned how.

Alternate theory is that so much stuff is SO easy, that if it gets any more complicated than installing an app on a phone, its too much and people just nope out without any real analysis of the situation.

Here's my 2UZFE with 317,000 miles after new Denso spark plugs, coils, and some miscellaneous vacuum line replacements.

I call it a Cuban compression test because I learned about doing it in New Jersey from a neighbor who used this technique when assessing engine health when buying a cars at auction.

Damn we are getting pounded here, saying by Tuesday we could have up to a foot of rainfall in the foothill areas where we are. That's nuts

I remember when I was a little kid, one of my cousins had a tricked-out 49 Ford. So I went with my dad to a corner drug store and saw an AMT model on the shelf and I knew it was like his car and wanted it.

My dad was like, ok but you need to put it together. So we brought it home and I started putting it together. I might have been 4 years old. It was before kindergarten.

It's good to let kids experiment and try things that may seem to be impossible. They might surprise you.

The storm is definitely tracking south. We got 3 inches of snow so far. We were supposed to get about 2 feet.

It was enough for 2 Chevy Tahoes to hit each other in front of the house.

If you're really wanting to get into models or get a kid into it, I can't recommend Tamiya brand enough. They blow AMT out of the water with part fit, details and overall quality of the kit. They often come with pre-pigmented plastics so you could skip painting it for the first ones as you learn. The BRZ I finished up this weekend and posted picture of was pre-pigmented to be a blue car and was very high quality. Currently working on my next one and they just knock them out of the park for quality for not much more in price. This one the paint came out perfect.

We got a 1/4" of rain the other night, a lot for here. Luckily for me I left the quarter windows popped :anonymous:

They all have decent angles it's just that the 95-97 has the most character and is the easiest to love

You have an early sr5 so it's a pretty special truck with the door activated dome lights and the super bolstered seats made with that awesome fabric

And the vinyl headliner giving it that cool vintage feel

My boss came in this morning and decided to do a random part of my job, so that's nice of him I guess. Dunno why though, it's a fairly tedious task I would've scripted and called a day if he asked.
