How effective do you all find your dual zone climate control for controlling temperatures between yourself and a passenger in summer and winter temps? Honestly I’ve never tried to adjust the temps different from driver to passenger yet

I haven’t tried it yet either. Of course I’ve only had it for almost a month.

Hang a sheet of plexiglass between the driver and passenger with very good seals, then set differently and you might notice. The best the two-different flows can do is the "contact points" ... where the foot-flow immediately catches the feet or hands are placed in front of dash vents. Else, it is a single cab with the air mixing.

The point is to blow different temp air on each. It’s not so much about the average temp of the cab. If warm air is blowing on one who wants it while cold air goes to the other, they’re going to feel those, and not so much the average cab temp. It’s good at doing what it was put there to do.

Works fine. On occasion she will turn up her side but mostly goes for the heated seats.

Search "What have you done to your 3rd Gen" for "heated seats". People have done it, maybe they provided parts-information.

Thanks. For now I think I should get it registered first. The temp plates ingot when I bought it expire tomorrow.

OK. Just saying that if there is anything you wanted to do (heated seats, build-a-camper-shell, etc ... search while in that thread. Easier to find 3-4 year old information than just searching from outside the thread in Google.

I’d say that since March of 17 the wife and I have used the dual zone system 3 or 4 times. Works fine, but as previously mentioned normally she just cranks up the heated seat.

These are a must! I can do without a lot of the additional options, but not this. Since I didn’t want the Tech upgrade and none were available at the time anyways, I added a heat pad under my seat cover. Awesome to get nearly instant heat when super cold and warm up times increase.

Convection control (heated/cooled air filling a space) does not feel as dramatic as "conductive" (heat/cold in contact with a body). That is why humans can stand in 20 degree air for hours, but die within minutes in 35 degree water.

My first couple of months driving I put a couple garbage bags over the front seats off my Jeep to keep them snow free. I then got a new soft top for my Jeep for Xmas and I was styling then. People thought I was crazy for driving topless in the snow with my winter jacket and gloves to keep warm. It sure beast walking several miles in that weather to get to school. It was all up hill both ways.

Being in freezing water that is above your heart level is a unique experience.

Not joking ... just leading with that ... I have heard, never experienced, that when a person first lands in freezing or sub-freezing water the initial shock can disable one from taking the correct adjustments to be able to climb into a raft or just to stay floating long enough for rescue.

I was in that situation once. I jumped of a front loader into the freezing river water that overflowed it's banks and was chest height on a nearby street. I had to hook a chain that was connected to the bucket of the front loader to my brother's pickup so we could pull it out of the water. His diesel engine sucked up some of the water and vaper locked. That was an expensive repair.

If it sucked up water it didn’t vapor lock.

Thats the way I remember it, but I'm sure I remember the term for the problem won't. Now that I think about it vaporlock is usually with the fuel line. But it did suck up water from what I was told and the engine got damaged. Insurance took care of the engine.

I think the term is "hydrolock", cylinders filled with water so nothing moves.
